Office Space, well worth watching.
Watched it as it was the same director who did Silicon Valley and you can see that. Didn't realise he did Beavis and Butthead too.

Watch Idiocracy, it's all basically coming true.

If anyone's after a high school comedy drama thing then it's worth checking out The Edge of Seventeen, Hailee Stanfield is great as well as Woody Harrelson as the miserable teacher

Arrivlas. Kodos & Kang meets Rex Harrison. Not for me.
Don't Breathe is worth a purchase. Worthchase.

I can't wait to see the final bill for Dunkirk, apparently Nolan spent $5m on a vintage Nazi plane to then blow it up.

Can't get Le Manfriend to watch Arrival, not good enough. He's not half picky...
Any good not perse new sci-fi movies for the discerning movie critic?
He liked cipher and solaris. Also finally saw The Fly (Cronenberg) sad ending is sad and "I am a fly that dreamed he was a man etc." scene is powerful. Even if you read about it, heard about it, it's still sad.
Good job.

That trailer though..
Atonement showed the chaos and panic, the trailer seems to be blokes staring into the middle distance on beaches uttering portentous lines.

And Harry Styles.

It's like having Stacey Solomon in Saving Private Ryan.

Just got back from a cheeky afternoon showing of Rogue One. Some dodgy CGI faces aside, I enjoyed it immensely. Walked out with a stupid fanboy grin plastered all over my face.

On the one hand Styles is 22 so it's vital to show how terribly young the men were who went to fight and die in France, on the other hand popular singers have been stinking up films every since some stupid shitty fart-knocker told Bowie he could act; if I went to the cinema and the audience started whooping when Harry appeared I'd start cheering the Germans.

So slow, meticulous, cerebral, beautifully shot Scifi doesn't appeal to him?
...but Solaris?? -

I mean Nolan already makes money, adding Harry Styles makes even more.
Had the La La Land OST on today, God I can't wait for it and I for the most part can't stand musicals...

I suspect they're doing an "independence day" somewhere in Arrival, eg a human thing works on something that can't work (the viruses in ID) and it's the suspension of disbelief out of the window.
Solaris keeps it very abstract like Stalker. (well Russian sci-fi innit).
Engineers/technical types are the worst for sci-fi they pick holes in about anything :):)
[and unfortunately I am one too, more and more...job deformation in progress]I'll watch it myself once it's on blu-ray and see if we agree/agree to disagree.

Videodrome is still my ultra fav sci-fi body horror weird shit movie. Frightening and inspiring at the same time.
The Fly was good too though, may rewatch lateron.
Next on the list: Ebola Syndrome if I can find it. On an empty stomach me thinks...
Anthony Wong Chau-Sang did an excellent job in "the eight immortals" as an unhinged maniac. -

Sooo ....
Are we ready to start talking about Rogue One yet?
For what feels like a film about nothing, Paterson is great. Bloody love Adam Driver.
