Hillingdon wasn't the most extreme conditions or the most advanced course I have ridden, but I managed 24th (19th affiliated) and it felt great to be back on tubs and sscx.
Had a killer first lap, bonked a bit towards the end of the race and crashed on an off camber with 3 laps to go, shook it of regained a couple of lost spots. -

Were you on the green specialized? You came flying past me on the first lap! I think I was 30-something... I basically rode the whole thing by myself until I got lapped but the guys at the front. People in front were too far ahead to catch and nobody behind was close enough to bother me.

Some great rides from 'on here' people today. Well done @Jon. for winning on his favourite course, but also a big well done to @fredtc who was 5th.
I was having a good race, but punctured on the final lap and had to ride the final descent on a flat tyre, but managed to hold off some of the people behind me and only lost 3 or 4 places.

You should've come to Frylands! Was very muddy and slick, with some really tricky corners. A tough hill to climb at the start of every lap though, so not ideal on singlespeed.

or geared bikes in my case......I'm just glad to have got through the race without falling over
My cunning plan to ride and clear out the remnants of man flu may by riding yesterday may not have been my one of my best , I feel like I've been run over by a steam roller.

Is anyone coming up to the Harrogate Nova New Year's Day Cross?
Unbowed from having to cancel last year's race due to last minute severe flooding the race organisers are back putting on a race at Conyngham Hall in Knaresborough. Early work is already under way getting the course in place and it's looking to be pretty impressive. There's even going to be some closed roads in place on the day.
For additional spectator value, the Go Cross race is going to have a tandem with a blind stoker racing in it. I expect much loud cheering.

All CX races should have a water feature :)
Missed out on a top 10 on Sunday at Oldbury Court in Bristol due to crashing a couple of laps from the end on a greasy corner and getting tangled in some tape, oh well - it was good to get a proper muddy cross at last.
Last year it chucked it down during the race and the stream became a knee high raging torrent of ice cold water...

Enjoyed the reversed course at Frylands. Felt it could have been a touch longer and it would have been nice to include the bombhole but there were plenty of opportunities to crash as it was. Given how my legs were feeling yesterday I should have sat up for the last few laps but puncturing is always a possibility there.

Awesome, It should be worth while turning up early. Waffles, gourmet burgers, luxury chocolates, some very nice coffee, mulled wine, mince pies and there is also a fun little pump track on site as well.

Where were you last week?
Did you ever do a combined London/Central League race there? A field of 200 odd riders. Mental. It was like wacky races.
