Until you need to take them off to fiddle with electrical connectors.

At which point you have plenty of time to sort out two cables before your hands freeze..

At no point in my life have I thought "gee, I wish I had some expensive magnetic low voltage wiring connectors". But perhaps these thoughts are not far off.

SP PL-8 are supposed to come in a variety of drillings but I can only find 32h and 36h.

I emailed the dude, not hoping for much but got a quick response:
Thanks for your interests in SP dynamos.
Yes, we make 24H, 28H, 32H and 36H for PL-8. However, at this moment, 24H hub is out of stock. Sorry about this. If you can change to 28H, you can choose PL-8 in black, silver or red.If you want to order, you can write model/ spoke hole/ color/ quantity to me.
Best Regards

$4870 New Taiwan Dollar equals £123.462 British Pound
So, it's a bit cheaper to buy a 32h from Germany than order direct. -

I bought the rim brake one, it arrived today and is perfect. Perhaps a bit overkill for my needs at 36h, but will be on the utility bike, so that's fine. Cheers for the tip-off!

if you've opened a line of communication already could you ask if they do 12x100 thru axle?

That was easy.

You're welcome! I'm really looking for a 36h disc version, unfortunately they had everything but.

What is the best cost/benefit hub in the market with disc and 15mm thru axle?
-
• #844
I don't know but my PL-8X got me across Europe for about £150.

• #845
that is confusing - what is the difference between centerlock brake(PL 8X) and disc brake(PD 8X)?
-
• #847
The ones with L in their name are for Shimano CenterLock splined disc rotors. The 'D' hubs are for 6-bolt disc mounts. I use Shimano CenterLock PL.

Ah that makes sense, thanks.

Of course you should buy German. The drag is possibly negligible. SON have five year warranty and SP two, nobody here either ever had a dynamo warranty.
Gloves. I hear they work great.
