Looks good. May well try that next time. The St James was nice but no super exciting beer and no crisps.
-
• #655
I have been taking my own crisps to pubs for years now. I thought everyone did this.

Presumably the Biscuit factory is likely to be quiet tomorrow afternoon around 3-4pm?

Just realised my harness and rope are from 2008... That came around fast.
They've only seen light use (once a month on average across their lifetime, at a push), still look pretty clean with no fraying etc and have been stored properly. The rope is fine, its a 10.5mm Beal Top Gun, but a lot of manufacturers say harnesses should be replaced every 7 years, even if lightly used. I inspect it closely every time and it looks all good.
With occasional use and proper care, the lifespan of a
Black Diamond harness is 5-8 years. With frequent use and proper care, the
lifespan of a Black Diamond harness is 2-5 years. The maximum shelf life is 10
years from the date of manufacture.Should I replace the harness?

Hi guys! Visiting london on thursday for a week and wouldn't mind going climbing 3 or 4 while I'm there.
can anybody recommend a good wall, for bouldering and maybe some lead climbing in London?
Also if anyone would like a belay partner don't be afraid to ask!

the Castle is probably the most popular place, but I would recommend the Reach in Woolwich, which is less busy, has a bit more height and variation of angle, including a huge roof about ten meters up. Bouldering is also interesting and varied. And there's tons of auto belay if you cant find a partner.

thank you! I'm only there for a few days but maybe ill try both of these out.

If you need a buddy for the Castle I'm going on Sunday. At the theatre on Saturday night so hoping to be fresh faced rather than groggy and hungover. Drop me a PM.

I'll be there on Sunday as well. Would be good to stay for the lock-in when there's less people/kids running around but happy to go whenever.

Lock in?

You can hire boots at the wall, I did that a few times before getting my own pair. If you're doing bouldering, you don't need anything else.
Someone to show you the ropes? I'm climbing tomorrow at The Arch if you want to come?
