  • @PhilDAS pos reserve judgement until it's built? Quite a few times I've been surprised, including recently with frames i thought wouldn't work. Like you say worst case don't think you'll have much issue selling it on if it does come to that.

  • the floor is nice tom

  • You can have the orignal steel forks from my Genesis if you want something to tide you over or borrow my spare front disc wheel.

  • Thanks but I've ordered a new wheel which is on the way, I'm unlikely to get the brake fitted and the rear wheel together and trued before it arrives anyway.

That said, the only other wheel I built was at yours with the help of @Dom.

Could we repeat this again with a Cypriot takeaway?

  • You're a silly sausage tom you could have easily swapped that axle out for a QR one, it takes 10 mins and a set of cone spanners!

I havent built a wheel for ages, im sure we can use the power of greek kebabs to help assemble one again! Sadly Dom is gone to a strange land on the other side of the planet for the forseable future...

  • Wow, you're tall. Beik is super rad. :)

  • He's actually only 5ft8in, the bike takes 24" wheels

  • making the best out of sick leave? looks good and fun. wheel decals are smart.

is the front wheel for qr or through-axle actually? otherwise spotters remark is a bit void.
is it gonna be disc front as the disc mounts on the fork suggest?

  • Those wheels are from my Koga, they're not staying on the Steamroller!

The front wheel is going to be a QR disc wheel. That's one of the reasons I was attracted to the F&F in the first place. I've got a BB7 and lever.

I think I'm going back to work tomorrow, even though my hub and spokes are set to arrive tomorrow. I still can't speak properly but I'm just going to try and teach by pointing at people and gesturing wildly.

  • Put Dura-ace 9000 on The Punisher and a new set of bars, tape and seatpost. That's me done

  • That's mean, love it!

  • Just put an old road frame and new parts into the shop to be built up. Now stressing about stem length. As its a quill, there's no quick and easy way to switch once installed. I opted for 100 over 80, partly because 80 seems so short. But I could be that pain in the neck customer calling in the morning. Better than living with back pain though.

  • thanks :) yes this is what minivĂ©lo looks like when you're 6'6" haha

  • might have a little tickle , a far away friend found this in my size , alan pista ,

    JAH Provides!

  • Seems a little steep , 400 euro approx , we'll see

  • A slam on a caad10 (?) is never easy on your back

    piece of piss mate

    (CAAD9 tho)

  • Thinking of going neo-retro with this....is this going to work out? and what kind of wheels to go for? thinking of lowflange trackhubs laced to low profile boxtype rims ala tb14. suggestions?

  • lots of anti potential...

  • Grey TB14s for sure.
Are you changing the rings to a single 1/8" one?
In love with those cranks (so nice in person; have on my geared bike; 5600 arms much nicer than 7800 IMO) but will be tricky to find a single ring that's meaty enough to compliment the crank, yet retro enough to suit the frame.

  • I wouldn't put road bits on a track bike

  • New stem for race bike, and slammage, courtesy of @mdcc_tester
Need micro shims and a slimmer upper race to decrease that HT-to-STS cover gap.

  • ...it's a 165mm road crankset which i got for cheap. i actually like how they look.
... will go for single 1/8" ring yeah.
...thinking of getting a 1"ahead track fork made from orlowski, we'll see.
    ...still collecting ideas.
