Wileyfox Spark X: didn't get a case in time, slipped out of GF's rucksack (5.5" screen makes it too big for the chest pocket of her bike jacket), fell less than a foot and cracked the bottom left corner, with the longest crack pretty much following the bottom edge of the screen.
Apparently there's some kind of screen replacement deal, with some quirk about registering within a month... I didn't register the device, as I forgot about it, and I don't remember any vouchers in the box.
Urgh.
Apparently Timpsons do same-day phone repairs, but don't advertise a price list or a list of phones they can get parts for.

Any good black Friday deals on a tablet out there?
-
• #18080
Anybody jumped on some Black Friday deals and now has a Galaxy S7/S6 or Note 4/5 kicking about?

My S5 got more broken, so if anyone sees anything good, or gets anything good and wants to sell on then do say.

I've got an S5 Neo that's been hardly used (used for testing andriod mobile game builds only) if you're interested?
I'm looking to upgrade to something GearVR compatible, unfortunately it's the last Galaxy that isn't.

How much would you want? I'm happy enough with my s5 performance wise so if it'll last out my contract for less than a screen and possible microphone repair I could be interested.

Depends what you want it for, Kindle Fire for £30 if it's just media consumption.

HTC have some decent money off stuff. I'm actually most interested by the half price RE camera. Not seen that before, looks kinda neat.

Carphone warehouse had the Pixel 32gb on sale with a new contract £30 up front on a 2 year plan instead of £200 up front. Kicking myself as I panicked and got a 5x just before they stopped selling them. only good if you want a new contract though.

I'd probably be after around £150 or so. Though still holding out for a decent S6/7 or Note5 & GearVR deal before wanting rid of it.
Also, Samsung have some of the regular S5s on Amazon used for a similar price: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Galaxy-SIM-Free-Smartphone-SM-G900F/dp/B00ISQWBEG/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1480083591&sr=1-7

My GF just dropped and killed her Samsung S5... I'm looking for a replacement to buy outright (no sim) in the next day or so. Budget probably around £200-250.
She really liked her old S3, but was never particularly impressed with her S5.
Any suggestions?

Nexus 5x if you can find one
-
• #18091
I'd forgotten about the nexus phones since they are no longer listed on the Google store. I'll have a look.
In the meantime I've had good experiences buying from Clove in the past, and they have some Samsung A3 phones available. Any thoughts on whether they are any good?

Just ordered a Huawei + Harman Kardon MediaPad M3 .. $239 isn't bad. XDA developer has already rooted it, so opens for custom roms.
My N7 2013 USB port died, I ordered a Qi charger pad for it but that's not great for when I'm on a plane

I've bought from Clove and also from Expansys, with no troubles ever.

I bought a thirty quid Amazon fire tablet on their black Friday deal. A bit of googling says that I should be able to root it and put a custom ROM on. With play store and services.
If so, I'll be very happy. If not, it will be a TV tablet for my daughter. Either way, thirty quid!

What's the phone of choice of you're looking at the cheap end of the spectrum? One plus 3? Wiley swift? Moro g still?

One plus 3

Hmm. Apparently they're sold through o2 - can't see if it's possible to buy them without a plan/unlocked thought.
