New car fun. Think I left an interior light on so it's dead as a doorknob now.
Interior lights that aren't wired to doors can >>>
-
• #31261
I need to check but I don't think they're wired to the doors like normal.
It's probably not even the battery, it's probably some immobiliser shite. The fucking thing wouldn't start when I got it home the other day. Turns out it was because if you have venus lined up with Jupiter and drive in second gear for 28 seconds the immobiliser arms and the car won't start again. Then you press the keyfob and the alarm goes off. Basically, I can't cope with cars that are less than 20 years old.
I need to go and get the fckin manual.

Using DCOE pattern throttle bodies? I eyed up the jenvey ones for a while.
-
• #31263
Yeah these are Jenvey 45s on a Dibilias manifold.
i needed to get the air filter geometry and port spacing to get my air filter back plate cut to suit so seemed the easiest way

Lidl do the lithium ion jumpstart packs for 35 odd quid
-
• #31265
Thanks, I already have a charge pack. Charged battery, reinstalled with much swearing (shitty bracket) and the thing beeped, flashed, farted and started like it was supposed to.

• #31266
It seemed reasonable that a newer car would be as clever as my older cars and turn shit like interior lights off when the doors were closed, locked and the ignition was off. Clearly someone forgot the memo to implement what I considered a pretty fucking standard feature.

Is that a Guy Allen print?

• #31268
You know blokes don't read manuals.
I've given it to the missus to work out..
Nah, I just made really sure everything was off when I left it this time. If it's dead again, I might swap the battery for a new one and try again.

• #31269
Yep. Had a cheeky 10% promo code.
These can only go up. Hand signed. Stunning.

I don't drive enough to know if the alt is working :P
I'll wait until I try and move it again and see if it starts. It should be fine though.
I'm almost certain it was the stupid interior light. -
• #31271
In the history you got with the car when did it last see a new battery?
But yes- chances are good that not leaving a light on will sort it.

Nice. He's about the only person that creates car art that isn't embarrassing to have on your wall. Great stuff

• #31274
Nah, I'll either get used to it or if it happens again, I'll change the wiring so it's cut off when the door or ignition is off or something similar.

My car had a fault that caused the radio to come on and stay on until the battery was dead.
It was overcome by leaving a CD in it. CSB, but is there any known faults? Owner's forums are pretty good places to check to save time/money.
Bargain!
