You've just poured some apple and mango juice into a glass.

I had a really shit beer at lunch. I was torn between a Welsh cider I knew (and like...) and whatever I ended up drinking.
0/10 would not lunch beer again.

Very nice indeed! And some awesome beers in that selection you just posted up!

Thanks for sharing them! They have some good reductions for Black Friday (wasn't planning to get involved in that but beer is a different matter). Got a bit carried away with Omnipollo and Mikkeller as I find them a bit pricey over here usually.

Heh, glad to be of use. Lots of my life reads like a curb or Seinfeld script. :)

Not convinced by Stone for the most part, Go To IPA is utterly awesome for what it is though.

Yep

It doesn't have enough mettle to contain beer.

No surprises there. :)

Lighter, cheaper, more compact. Surely a better bet for imported beers, especially regarding shipping costs.
Don't get me wrong, if I saw a lambic or similar in a can I'd run for the hills. But I've had many great beers from a can.

Also meant to keep the beer better.
It's like corks vs. screw-tops in wine. Screw tops are better but people are horrified by them because they think it automatically means cheap wine.
-
• #5621
Indeed, but only if you're a heathen who keeps their beer somewhere where sunlight can get at it.
Isn't cork beneficial to wines as it lets some oxygen in (which is helps the ageing process)?

Not talking about skunked beer, fresh beer stays fresher, longer and the whole thing tastes better. Blind tastes tests prefer quality cans.
Not sure faster aging of wine is a good thing. Oxidization of most foodstuffs is a bad thing.

Wasn't aware that cans kept it fresher also, very interesting! Is that as a result of the material or closure? I'd be surprised if it were the material.
I'm not even going to try to understand the ageing of wine, but oxygen is apparently a good thing for ageing it. I think it's something to do with anearobic fermentation resulting in off-flavors. Like I said I'm no expert but even synthetic corks are designed to let oxygen pass through as far as I'm aware.
Wine is a bit too complex for me to want to get involved with.

When I was chatting to a brewer that used cans (can't remember who - maybe one of the guys from Ballast Point?) they were all about the special plastic coating inside the cans that stopped it picking up any taste from the can itself and also when sealed the cans are 'more' sealed than capped bottles. I was quite drunk though. Obvs.
I still love bottles but I'm no longer a bottle-only snob when it comes to craft beer in cans.

That large Triple Westmalle bottle.
Opened this thread for the first time and this is the first post that popped up. Sorry @Cupcakes, this reads like a scene from Curb, am laughing hard to myself.
