And can they be put in a heat proof tube? I didn't just say that last bit because quite rightly what would they be doing anywhere close to a source of heat?

Large flat screen TVs on chimney breasts can look a bit out of place. Especially in smaller rooms.

If you have a modest sized room, get a modest sized telly and stick it in the corner. Then let the focal point of the room be your lovely wood burner.

If you want a big screen for occasional use, a projector onto the chimney breast might be better. Solves the chasing in the wires conundrum too.

Projector most likely at this stage. It's about 4x5m. Open plan staircase in one corner, door to kitchen in other corner, door to utilities cupboard/alcove shelves in third corner, alcove shelves/windows in last corner.

Or I'll just get a load of VR headsets. Only half-joking.

@CYOA this is the only picture i've taken on the room, just as i'd finished three weeks of stripping wallpaper, lining paper, skimming, sanding & painting. I didn't have the energy to move the hoover.

@CYOA you seem to have the thumbs down to that idea but I would also add that wood and coal fires are very dusty and that will not go well with a fancy flat screen telly

That's a good point. Have had various burners at previous places and you're right they're a bloody mess.

Man like @dbr built these beauties to help offer a room divide solution in our open plan living/dinning room. I <3 them and they spell us nearing completion of the inside of the house now, with rads going in next week.

They look well shit. Give them to me and I'll see they're properly disposed of.
