  • Thanks! Looks fun.

Better make sure @Jon. knows about it too.

  • Thanks for sharing that. Had no idea it existed.

  • SSCXEC and WC are ment to be wilder than the standard SSEC WC events.

Watching with interest myself :) after doing a SSEC best to take a spare liver and kidneys and don't challenge Belgians to drink off's.

  • This will be a good end to the season.

    Here's the new bike:

  • What a weapon! That looks awesome.

  • Long cockpit is long.

  • Brake levers actually not too bad, I found the Shimano hydraulic one oddly longer despite a shorter appearance.

  • Does look fast. Are you not racing on your Polish custom build anymore?

  • I'm still mildly tempted for my Genesis

  • 11,8kg. That's my crossfit sorted for today...

  • Probably the most comfortable brake hood I have ever ridden on.

  • I'd take sram over any other hydro aestetically AND comfort vice

  • Hmm, thougt it had attached...

  • Here we go (hopefully):

  • This is going well...

  • file size too big ? for attachment....

  • if it's over 3mb, it won't attach.

  • You can also use imgur.com and post a direct link

  • Photosize is way below 3mb. It just kept timing out.

  • Any thoughts on eccentric PF30 bottom brackets for running single speed? It looks as though my options are a £45 one from Onza, or a Wheels Manufacturing version for twice the price. I'm undecided as to whether to bother with one of these or spend a while playing with chains and 'magic' ratios whilst using a normal BB.

  • I used an Origin 8 EBB, which worked okay, but I couldn't stop it creaking. I'm using a chain tensioner now, with a standard EBB, but I mainly race on gears these days, so not sure if that makes sense if you're racing in normal British conditions, i.e. mud.

I think @Jon. is using an EBB on his bike up there ^.

  • It's creaking i'm concerned about, I assume they have to be fitted without grease to stop them spinning around in the frame?

  • You need grease in there to protect the bearings from the elements, IMO. I think that all EBBs slip eventually, it's just some slip faster than others. The Origin8 wasn't too bad, it probably needed adjusting every few weeks, but it's a bit of a faff as you have to remove the non-drive side crank to retension the chain. That's also a ball ache when you get to a race and decide you need to change gear, which normally means changing the chain length too.

  • sounds like a bit of a shit option, I was keen on the idea of going singlespeed but might just sack it in and ride 1x11 again
