Any reason not to go PC?
Just fired up the first one a few days back, popped an Xbox controller in, forgot how horrible it is to play an FPS with a controller.

Buggy apparently, although sounds like all versions have issues atm
-
• #16154
I've had the same issue. No fix at the moment.

Can you use a mouse and keyboard on a PS4? Not sure why you would want to mind, just curious.
-
• #16156
Yes.
-

I saw something just the other day about how smoothing built into console games (to make up for how shit controllers are) makes using a mouse with them odd.

Bigger TV for the ps4. I should probably just go PC.
I have no idea why anyone would choose to use a controller over a mouse for FPS. Fine if it's a console game so everyone's on the same level but it's a definite disadvantage.

You can plug them in but games don't have support for them built in.

Anyone aware of a good PS4 Pro + Uncharted 4 deal?
-
• #16161
There isn't really many PS4 Pro bundles around yet. Shopto.net usually has the best prices.

Had a try using Steam streaming on my laptop from my gaming PC yesterday. Had a solid 60fps, 1080p with everything turned right up on Doom so I assume the steam link should be able to cope fine on my network.

I want a NES Classic but they are hard to come by it seems. How difficult would it be to set up an emulator on a Raspberry Pi? Seem to be guides out there, but I know nothing of coding etc. despite being computer literate.
-
• #16164
Very straightforward.

Though it's much easier just to download an emulator on PC and get some roms.

Supposedly in December but that was pushed back from October, so who knows..
-
• #16166
It's definitely happening.
It 'went gold' on October 21st meaning they've sent release code to disc manufacturers etc.
Current pre-release play throughs say it feels like a game that should have come out in 2010 in terms of game tech, mechanics etc etc but that the story itself is very compelling.

Not sure whether that's a glass half full or half empty comment.
Meh, if it's not what everyone wants it to be will wait for its price to tumble, if it's amazing will wait for a child to run through it really quickly and buy second hand... -

That's up to you i guess. I don't have a PS4 anymore and probably wouldn't have bought it anyway but if they get the story right, it could be fantastic.
I'm playing through Read Dead Redemption again at the moment and the graphics are kind of shitty compared to where we are now but the story is so good that i couldn't give a fuck.

I want the game to be outstanding, and the expectation that's been building over the past years is bound to be too heavy to bear, but I'd like it to be good, rather than okay..
okay is something you live with, good is something you want to come back to.. -
• #16170
Did you sell all your games too?
Edit: Don't know why I'm asking, not like my backlog is short or anything
-
• #16171
Yup, there's early copies out to 'influencers' too like Pewdie Pie
-
• #16172
Pewdie Pie
^ fuck that guy sky-high.

• #16173
I'm surprised anyone can have such a strong opinion on him.

Only game i have left is Bloodbourne. £10 to anyone that wants it...

borne merely of his ubiquity and the annoyance experienced when his name pops up front and centre whenever a youtube game vid / tutorial / review is yooloogoogled.
and he's an annoying little twat.
I've had my One S for about 6 weeks and have constant problems with the controller dropping despite being right in front of the thing.
