Cycling-specific jeans

We have a selvedge jeans thread that seems to be the most active jeans thread on the forum, a general jeans thread that's a bit dead, a dead jeans shop thread, a thread about repairing bike-worn jeans, a white jeans thread, and a racist jeans thread, but we don't seem to have a thread about cycling-specific jeans.

Lots of companies now seem to do jeans with features designed for cycling, and I'm a bit lost about what's on the market.

I'd be happy to maintain a list here in the OP if people would find this useful, perhaps listing features if that makes any sense.

I know of Rapha, Levi's, Vulpine, and Swrve, but I think there are some more.

My experience: Levis - 505 fitted me well, but not great denim. They don't make that cut anymore in cycling specific. 511s don't fit me but feel better quality.
Rapha - good quality and fit well.
Osloh - good denim and fit but a couple of weird features like the chain protector bit on the right ankle and big buttons that hurt like hell if you take a tumble.

Howies are good but never had a pair of cycling specific from them... Have and still wear a pair of Levis commuter jeans which are pretty good... good work on the list @Oliver Schick

It's amazing how many people photograph their jeans without a model in them. Looking at howies, for example - they've got images of their baggy, regular and slim fit jeans lying flat. And they all look identical.

Pedaled make nice jeans.

Got a pair of the Giro chino things.

Think they are called 'Mobility' which definitely makes it sound like they should be worn by old men that pish themselves.

That aside, they are pretty fantastic. First pair of cycling specific trousers I've owned so not much to compare them too but I like em.

For women, Levi's 710s are good. They are slim fitting but have a lot of stretch so they are easy to ride in, more forgiving for a larger thigh as well.

had a quick nosy at the fox daggers and spotted they're reduced to £40 in beige (ew).

seems like a bargain depending on how you feel about the colour / having a crack at slinging them in the washer with some dye.

ok not a cycling specific product but ive been using peacocks cheapo 'slim' fit -but only the button fly version so check label for the couple of % elastane content which is what makes all the difference- the new zip version is not the same and quite impossible to cycle in by comparison. I know many people would probably stick their noses up at such a proposition but for me it wasnt even about budget so much as something that works. If you can find the ones i mean then they are slim enough at the bottom to have pretty much zero chance of catching chainrings, Although not overly long in a 34R but seem to fit my sprinter like quads which is a rarity. Absolutely no issues getting leg over a high saddle etc so it may suit someone stockier out there that wants a really cheap tapered pair of jeans without any added bells/whistles. £18

Just bumping this as I'm looking to buy some new jeans.

Couple of points - Swrve have changed their design. Their phone pocket now actually fits a modern phone, however the jeans are MUCH smaller than they used to be (you'll need to go a size up) and the means jeans appear to be designed for men with no genitals. Avoid.

Also, apparently Levis changed their commuter range and got rid of the reinforced crotch and changed for a much less water resistant material, and are apparently now completely useless.

The latest CTC mag landed on my doormat today. It's got a group test of cycling jeans: Osloh, Swrve, Giro, and Vulpine (oops...)

The reviewer liked the Osloh ones best, but they looked really baggy in the photo, and as they have to be ordered & shipped from the US they're expensive at current exchange rates (~£150). They also liked the Swrve and Vulpine, but thought the Giros were too stiff and heavy.

Swrve sounds good - I always had a bit of an unwanted 'pouch' issue with the old ones (not being a man). A lot of Rapha mens shorts/trousers are also pretty close-fitting.

I've been living in Muxu jeans (regular cut) for most of the winter, really really like them. Stretchy and comfy. Somewhat unfashionable detailing, but I'm not really fussed. Can only see the slim cut for sale now though.
