Yeah that was my plan....

Nice one, the only thing that puts me off is the price. Dropping a ton on hooks for 5 bikes is a bit steep

Will I get three bikes in a 6' x 3' lean-to shed?
-

@Apone
I have a 7 x 4 pent.http://www.tigersheds.com/product/tiger-pent-bike-store/
I've got three bikes (built) on the floor, there should be room for another maybe two. But there are boxes and wheels too.
So. I've got my caad 10 on the wall on a £1 hook from IKEA. With a bit more of a tidy up and redoing what's in the boxes I think i can get the Ridley (though I think that's going up for sale) and the Mum bike (i can't bring myself to throw it out) on hooks on the walls.
For a 6 x 3 you'll probably get three and nothing else in there. There will be little to no room around the wheels of the bikes. If you don't use them all the time, i'd hang the frame on a hook.

Nice. Thanks man. I wanted a 7 X 4 but There's not quite enough room I don't think...

Didn't you move to a massive pile in the country?
-
• #786
Hmmm. 7 x 3 might fit. Cheers.

Oh yeah. But it's big UP, not WIDE. It's 4 stories of fun but it's still basically a victorian terrace with a pokey back garden.. .which has already been extended into and in need of doing up. Till then, I want to put the bike storage on a little bit of patio outside the back door. Longer that 7' means it'll overhand the existing concrete patio area and wider that 3' means it fouls the drain for the kitchen sink.

7 x 3 should be alright as you might be able to do some shelving on the end/above the wheel of a bike.
My 7 x 4 is packed to the gills at the moment, when I get home I can take a pic and post it on here?I've got to try and organise the stuff in boxes into smaller boxes/more consistent sized boxes. at the moment it's take everything out to get to a bike, then put it all back away.

Has anyone been using the bike hangars in the street? There's one at the top of my road that I can get a space in but wondering how secure they are.
-
• #791
£42 per year for one key and access to one space.
Not super secured since there will be at least 10 people with access to it.
You still need to lock up properly and I would not leave a bike worth more than £500 in there. And I would insure it.
In short, get your landlord to install an Asgard Bike Shed in your front/rear garden...

Mine's £25 for the keys plus £30 a year. Bikes are currently hanging on the wall in my flat which I've coped with for 5 years but moving one out of my flat would tidy things up a bit.

^^^Ordered the 7x3. Might have to flog a bike...

Wilcos do some good cheap hooks. They're rubberised so they don't scratch up whatever you hang on them, real cheap too.
My bike storage is really narrow but pretty tall. Just a standard width door to get things in and out too which is a bit awkward. I have one hook to go under the stem and one for under the saddle. When I get round to selling the Carrera it'll make things a bit easier, more than two bikes is a bit too cosy in this space.

It would be very very tight. I have this shed, and we have two road bikes (a 54cm and a 58cm), and they fit tightly, without having to do a jigsaw any time you want to get stuff in and out.
I'd recommend going bigger for three.

Have been banzored from getting the 4' one as it will encroach too much on the back door. The 7x3 was only £150 delivered and is really only needed for my one "nice" bike, plus one or two tattybuilds if possible. The other beaters can live under a tarp until they get sold or re-housed in the shed-proper.

I've actually got one of these waiting to be mounted. Got sold by the pivoting. Looks sturdy. Gonna mount it and come back with details.

What does your mount do for 500 kronor that this doesn't do for less than £10? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mottez-Bike-Pedal-Wall-Mount-Storage-Rack-Hook-Holder-Lift-Basement-Garage-/321924269781?hash=item4af42e86d5:g:WaQAAOSwyjBW3VR1

What does your Bowman do that this genesis cant? https://www.evanscycles.com/genesis-cda-10-2016-adventure-road-bike-EV258260
I just built a bike store as part of a new shed and used these folding hooks, and can confirm they're excellent. Being able to fold them means I can fit the bikes into a narrow space and remove them easily. definitely recommended. apologies for the crap photo tho.
