Not sure what's amusing about that. Most MPs called for him to resign.
Re: Goldsmith - he may have been popular, but I suspect his racist mayoral campaign, his transparent and obviously self-serving resignation which was almost certainly approved of by the party, and his position on the EU (especially now that MPs look to get a say) have made him a pretty toxic candidate. But we'll see!
