Good luck!
I've had hazel a yr now and so know what you mean about Nov!
I didn't want to have to get up at night (shit parent) so padded the house front door area. She instinctively went on the pads I put near the front door on day 1. Lucky!
She had her crate but door open. I read about crate training to teach them to hold, but I just think when their tiny bladders are full it's gonna come out and I'm gonna have to clean the crate and sleeping stuff! Lazy parent.
In retrospect, I would have done differently:
Got a dog wee tray thingy for inside and out instead of just padding the doorway but I think having the tray delineation would have helped.
Also in the backyard, contain it to one area. Lovely brown patches everywhere on lawn now.
Nappies - I used some for her first season and was like, why didn't I put them on her for nights?!
Lazy lazy parent! There was one day which was basically me on the floor mopping, spraying, mopping....little bastard didn't like using the same pad twice. Shat on the wall once... wouldn't use a pad we had walked over...grrr
