I know how you feel... my Goldsprint is not light with the rack either...

the difference in momentum takes some getting used to!

Rode it in this morning. Wasn't as bad as I expected once you're moving but I did really have to slow down for corners. Not being used to the weight (especially once it was loaded up) made avoiding potholes and glass very difficult but managed not to puncture
