  • You guys have some fast fuckers. Used to Kent League XC and always regarded a 3 or 4-lap race as a success if I wasn't lapped by your fastest guy or Dean Lacey from Cambridge AC...

Highgate train 50 yards from my house, but c.£100 a year can gtf. Thinking of joining Vegan Runners, because aminuls and £6 membership.

  • Good plan. Blimey, £100 is a bit steep. I guess they have to pay for a track in the middle of Hampstead Heath!

  • £100?! Hope that covers EA affiliation?

@PhilPub same trainers for xc here this year when spikes not needed, reckon 3 or 4 of the 5 courses unless we get some weather. In a couple years spikes will be minority as courses are sanitised more "'cos h&s innit".

Have fun at snowdon @kl, short drop shorts & vest weather yeah?

DtD is here tomorrow 5.40pm start i'm 91 (i think) and hoping I will be a dot on this link for any insomniacs looking to pass time tomorrow night...

  • Crikey, I assume you'll have something more sturdy than 190's on for that? Good luck!

  • Roclite 295's for DtD. Cheers.

  • Hmm been roped in for some sand dune training in Camber on Sunday with Spares Jr.
Been out of action all week with Novovirus, still not all bad, I've managed to puke and shit my weight down at least 2 kgs.
Anyone know of a good S London based running/bike masseur?

  • Ive just seen that Saucony have updated the Xodus, so spent the afternoon looking for a pair of the old style without success. If anyone knows of a shop with Xodus 6 GTX (yellow uppers) in size UK 9.5 please could you let me know.

Why do they keep doing that 😠😢 it took ages and lots of blisters to find them.

  • Going to be very foggy.

Tracker that moves will be #23 (race numbers differ) also showing as tracker #1 but thats my phone app I won't be using as nursing battery incase things go bad.

  • Dublin Marathon tomorrow for me, my first one. Ankle hurts from a 12 year old injury & surgery but I'm going to give it my best shot.

  • Good luck. Something else start hurting and you forget ankle.

  • 11.40ish 17/120ish. Happy with that no Nav errors of note, two fields slightly off exit gates by 30metres or so as running through clag on feel rather than slow down to take bearing. Sick at 45 miles which probably cost me the "Black" awesome finish time medal (appx 15mins outside). 3hrs kip, could go again (nope).

If you get chance, do this race!

  • Was wondering this morning how you'd got on. Well done, good time and finishing position.

  • Cheers, celebrating in style, really like the medal design.

  • Tibbs just hit the 30k mark in Dublin. keeping a steady pace but marginally speeding up as he goes (as expected when you start middle of the pack). on hanson's plan he topped out at 16mi in training so from here on out every step is a new distance pb for him.

got my fingers, toes, arms & legs crossed that he bosses the final stretch.

  • 4hrs bang on the money and kept it within a 10s variance on min/mile pace the whole way through.

    @Grand-Wizard-Goma-Sauce you are a don!

  • Congrats - amazing medal!!

  • I've been following too, super solid pacing. Well done @Grand-Wizard-Goma-Sauce!

  • Is Mitcham Eastfield too far south for you? Her name is Rebecca and she's a runner with Herne Hill Harriers. She's qualified and I like her style, but I am highly biased so don't take my word for it.

  • Well done @Grand-Wizard-Goma-Sauce & cheers @Hats

Recovery here in full swing, with the aptly named Moonless Dark IPA

  • Well done all! That medal is awesome @rhb.
Did a slow 12 mile trudge today from Camber to Lydd and back, just couldn't be arsed, no good cafe in Lydd for expresso fix either :(

Got bored and brought some cut price fly knits from run shop in Victoria, loving their socklikeness.

  • @cafewanda no Mitcham works, plus HHH is my daughters club, can you ping me details please? Ta

  • I've been super lazy/greedy for the last four months and have lost all motivation for doing anything other than sitting around and eating cake so I need a new thing. Thinking a running streak (at least a mile a day) to Christmas might do it. Any recommended apps for tracking runs beyond Strava/whatever the Nike one is called these days?

  • Snowdonia Marathon done on Sat - highly recommended (though mostly onroad). Horribly hilly, natch, but very well organised, great support, uber-friendly. It was cloudy with bits of drizzle, but very hot. Entry opens midnight of 1 Jan and the c.3000 places sell out out in minutes.

Had a lot of sickness issues in the second half due to not having eaten (poor planning - thought I'd find a wide range of vegan food in a small Welsh mountain village) and possibly due to a big pissup on Fri eve, but just wanted to get round as I haven't finished anything longer than a parkrun in the last couple of years. Did most of it with a friend who'd I'd normally put 20 mins into if fit, then caned the last two steep downhill miles into Llanberis. Never thought I'd be happy with a 4.15 marathon, but good to know how far I am from racing fitness - with a fair wind, would hope to take 30-40 mins off it next year.
