Is this because it's Halloween soon? :-)

I'm looking at getting a ready built Pomp for commuting on. I see that they're £449.00 at the moment. I know from experience that Planet X are always in a state of permanent sale. What's the lowest they get to generally? Thanks everyone!

Depends how desperate you are. I'm very content with my pomp, comparable with my Brooklyn, fathoms better than my retired charge plug, more comfortable and versatile with wider knobbly tyres for some SSCX and can fit a rear rack for touring. If I had to cut down to one bike it would be my V2 pomp (but very closely followed by my BMW).
TL;dr pomps pop up on flea bay all the time for <£200. Wait out and get one for cheap, I doubt you will regret it.

Anyone set up theirs mtb style with front suspension etc?

Just finish my pomp build. Thanks for al the comments on the forum, massive help in deciding parts and to buy the frame. Removed the branding for cleaner look and pompino from my wife's insistence ;-)
Setup for commuting.

Weirdly I had a dream that I found two pairs of suspension forks last night. Except they didn't travel vertically, they sort of pivoted at the crown so the blades flexed forwards.
Weird.

Patent that idea, then license it to Cannondale.

If anyone wants a medium pompetamine frame/fork/headset, I'm going to sell mine and just ride cross on my pompino. (having raced on it last night I've concluded that it's sufficient for my needs so I'm going to focus my current project energies on building a mtb instead of a disc crosser)

Ive just had a call from the shop, they're "trimming material from the calliper to stop it fouling the rear wheel etc".
My next disc bike will be flat mount. Is that right?

That sounds... Interesting!
I'm more motivated by the fact that I built my canti cross bike in a couple of hours, raced it, it was good, and I want to race again in a week. I haven't the time to faff anymore, even though the issues are easily resolved there's no motivation since I now have an adequate sscx bike rolling. Such is life. I'm going off projects - is this what getting old feels like?
No idea on flat mounts, that is a question for @amey :)

Projects are for people with time on their hands.
I needed my bike ready for commuting/pottering during winter/potential sscx race. I've just got back from seeing the in-laws, my kitchen is being gutted, it's the first day back at work and school, and FUCK MUDGUARDS AND PANNIER RACKS. -

Is that the surly rear cable hanger? I've found some cantis lying about so going to use those but there is no bloomin hanger on the back. Is there any judder with the steerer mounted hanger at the front?

I've grabbed the chainset off my winter bike which I'll convert to single ring, it says it's got a 43.5mm chain line, pompino has a 42mm. Which BB do I need? I was going to go Michelle primato as it's adjustable but they do a 107 and 110mm
-
• #6242
Measure the axle of the BB on the winter bike? Being 1.5 mm out won't affect things.
-
• #6243
I'll try and find it. Hopefully it didn't get chucked when it was upgraded!

Ah, hang on. 110.5

So if I went for the 110 I would only be 1mm out on the chain line? I think that's how this works!
-
• #6245
Yes. Which will be fine.

• #6246
Nitto AS-2 Hanger. Surly looked too long for my frame. No judder. Using swissstop green road pads on avid shorty 6.
-
• #6247
Some .5 mm spacers with the standard chain ring bolts will get yer chain line as spot on if you're that concerned.

Last day without guards dry autumn is the best

I thought it looked too long as well. I'll search out a nitto. Good news on the no-judder. I wonder why they only drill the rear of the unicrown? I prefer fork mounted to be honest

I wasn't sure how far out it can be but 1-1.5 sounds fine.
One more question. (Sorry, new to this chain line business) I've read some reports about the Miche not being the best in all weathers. This will be ridden along the sea wall and covered in mud so I was thinking of going for a shimano sealed unit at 110mm. I'm a little confused with the ISO / JIS standards though. How do I know which one to get or how much to adjust it for this crank? http://pro-wheel.com/main/?portfolio=ounce-421c
