Curious that German for example its pretty straight away on that, you can learn to spell things based on the sound and vice versa in a week or so
Erm ... this is patently untrue. :)
There are difficulties in German based on linguistic history and subtle phonetics that take considerably longer to learn, too. Many Germans never master Dehnungen und Schärfungen adequately.
That said, these things are actually taught in schools over there, which I'm sure will shock many a committed Brexiteer. :)
Well, sorry in the name of all non-native-english for failing to learn your (crappy*) language so you can understand us :D, maybe you could just learn spanish and you'll be the one having trouble expressing yourself... at least you'll learn a lot of empathy in the process. I feel your pain when "guiris" come to "el mediterraneo" and can't even ask for a "cerveza".
Anyway Carlos is living on the UK to improve his english as well as giving you more reasons for Brexit (because apparently noone there wants to work at a Decathlon so they have to hire a guy like him... and we're the lazy ones they say 🙈 ).
Just help him instead of calling him out, that's all I was asking if I was there I would try to like I tried from here with @hippy.
