That's what I think also, and because top-10 guys are involved in those disqualifications and some are still filling their boots with sponsors & stuff... meanwhile guys like Carlos work at a Decathlon that don't even recognize the talent they have there (they're thinking about cancelling his event)

They have been released though, that's basically the finish list that's been around months.
Everyone knows where they came, anyone who used the banned roads should be penalised.
Can you imagine the ballache of trawling through 200+ racer tracks to see who used banned tunnels and shit?
It must be hard for them to watch during the race since they have to up and move to each of the controls with only a couple of cars.
Maybe just auto add 24hrs to anyone who used one of the banned roads and 12hrs to anyone who broke any of their other rules? Still a lot of shit to sift through.

Ok, yes @bananaskid made that very same point- I agree
The banned roads issue is very problematic, did anyone else see the chaos that Route 66 became over the perceived safety of the route?TCR had similar concerns raised about safety in its earlier incantations, hence banning certain roads, and once you have a rule, you need to enforce it.
There isn't an easy answer, as these races become more commercial they attract responsibility, (unfairly so in my opinion), and rules. Sponsors don't want to be associated with fatalities.
In my experience what generally happens is that as soon as someone infringes a rule they disqualify themselves and are no longer associated with the event, so the organisers can isolate themselves.

Being very blunt, Carlos's poster is crap, 5 mins of a native speakers time would transform it though.

Well, sorry in the name of all non-native-english for failing to learn your (crappy*) language so you can understand us :D, maybe you could just learn spanish and you'll be the one having trouble expressing yourself... at least you'll learn a lot of empathy in the process. I feel your pain when "guiris" come to "el mediterraneo" and can't even ask for a "cerveza".
- And I say crappy because... English is a language that has Spelling Competition!! I mean... you can't correlate what you read with how its pronounced... either you have a native speaker teaching you "his pronunciation" or you're pretty much going to figure out yourself. Curious that German for example its pretty straight away on that, you can learn to spell things based on the sound and vice versa in a week or so, or many other latin based languages I know. But yeah, sorry for making your life easier on the interwebz :D, go google translate!
Anyway Carlos is living on the UK to improve his english as well as giving you more reasons for Brexit (because apparently noone there wants to work at a Decathlon so they have to hire a guy like him... and we're the lazy ones they say 🙈 ).
Just help him instead of calling him out, that's all I was asking if I was there I would try to like I tried from here with @hippy.

Touchy foreigners ;)
I'm more than happy to help, as I'd like to meet Carlos. I'll book a half hour slot. -

Do you think bed wetting on TCR's Facebook page and you posting in various places criticising his 'treatment' is going to make him more or less appealing to sponsors?
Also, no offence to him but Decathlon won't have given him a job based on his ultra racing pedegree, it's irrelevant to what they are paying him for.
You may be trying to help, but posting everywhere criticising Mike, and where he works does not paint him in a good light, it all sounds a bit entitled.

Erm ... this is patently untrue. :)
There are difficulties in German based on linguistic history and subtle phonetics that take considerably longer to learn, too. Many Germans never master Dehnungen und Schärfungen adequately.
That said, these things are actually taught in schools over there, which I'm sure will shock many a committed Brexiteer. :)

Checkpoints will be announced and entries open next Monday.
Nervous!
-
• #4662
Everyones just kissing Mike's arse though. Should issue provisional results first, then adjust accordingly.
Thanks Spares!

• #4663
In this way some results will change.
For this reason Mike it's still thinking about. -

I don't worry about how appear my comments too much (sorry if as usual I'm unpolite). The apparience are nothing. Stupid things for hipster styles... Also because I do not have any sponsor so I can destroy any image of brand (and I think any brand look on the TCR's facebook wall)!
Watching the people who moveing in this kind of races I will continue on my own way. There are a lot of personal challenges and roads to ride in the world (Sorry again I don't need anybody show me 4 amazing check points to enjoy the route).
I think that I won't participate in more "careers" seeing that I am not able to rentabilizer the trips for very little money that I spend in them.
If I'm here is for improve my English, I know that nobody in Decathlon contracted to me for my non pedegree, they contract to me because I have expirience on the brand "knowhow" and also I have knowledge as technician. I don't have any doubts about it. I only wanted to do something for the brand to call customers and rise money for charity (a school in Bornemouth which works with childs with autism) and by the moment it's all on the air and probbly nothing will be happend.
I'm bored with the company, I'm bored waitting for the results of the race... (it's complicated to write to a brand and try to explained your non definitive result), and also I'm bored for British stylelive.

@CarlosBI Much as I hate Alpkits business model they do have a very good write up on how to get corporate sponsorship;

It's great! I have a lot to read, haha
Thanks! I have some dry-bags from Alpkit and I'm happy with them.

Well here we go
I got a 7 hour penalty - probably for using that road in Macedonia
-
• #4668
Others I knew who used the motorway got two hours. Which was a bargain, as it cost me loads of time!
Maybe you did something else far worse that you are not letting on...?Overall the penalties seemed pretty 'light touch' - on a quick glance
-
• #4669
I've no clue aside from the motorway - maybe I used it more than others. Oh well, not too fussed as I don't think it changed my position
-
• #4670
Maybe it depends whether the time saved also allowed you to get an earlier ferry.
-
• #4671
Ooh goodie, results.
Where are the penalties listed?
-
• #4672
At the right of page 6. You got 0 I think
-
• #4673
Course I did, stickler for rules, me.
-
• #4674
I did wonder, if they'd give penalties for the ones using the border crossing that was meant for locals only, between Bosnia and Montenegro. Seems not, and indeed it was equally available for everyone, though only the first ones got through. But if you're supposed to follow the local traffic rules etc., this is kind of in the grey area, maybe? Or maybe it is ok to use the border crossing for anyone, although I think it's listed as "locals only", not international. Anyway it wasn't mentioned in the rules and there was a risk of not getting through and having to come back and take another route. I didn't go that way, instead took the southern international border crossing that was a bit longer.
In any case this was my first race like this and I was 13th, awesome!

well in - that's a great result for a first attempt.
True that- I don't have a dog in this fight so I'm out.
