Regardless of ideology ... here's a Unison report from 2014 stating financial links:

None of this is proven corruption, that would be foolish. But there is a conflict of interest if you hope for a resilient NHS for years to come, or I guess a convergence of interest if you're and MP who wants a hollow state, a seat in the house of lords and fat investment portfolio.
