My issue with the Shure tips is that they spring back too quickly so I can't get a decent fit. If I use small then they're kind of loose in my ear, and if I use medium then I can't get them in my ear hole without it being uncomfortable. If I use medium Comply, they squidge down nice and good, and then when they go back to original size they are nice and snug and wedged in my ear, no discomfort and really good isolation.
It's got to be a ear hole shape thing.
