Is that your work?

Is that type of rear brake cable routing (seemingly with full outers?) normal for a bike of that era that doesn't have internal routing?
-
• #604
Good point, didn't notice this. It does seem a little strange when considering the era I would have thought this comes from. Having a quick search online seems both internal and external routing models were produced, presumably with internal being the later model.

Heh, sorry, I didn't mean to directly interrogate just you about that ;)
I wonder when frames shifted to the current thing of cable stops then...

Are there any examples of MAX forks with straight, non-tapering blades?
-
• #608
those taper, i think they're after some which go straight down like argos aero forks but i've never seen any
-
• #609
They do exist, ceeway do a max profile, untapered blade that will work with a max crown and a specific set of dropouts
See the demon track bike

not MAX but any love for Columbus MS tubing here?
Just bought a new frame...
-
• #619
MS frames look lovely, what have you bought ? Any Pictures

Bought this Roberto Motta:
Bit of an impulse buy but the tubing is beautiful and it's in good shape, I love the teardrop profiled downtube and the subtle taper on the seat tube-a bit more understated than MAX. The bottom bracket shell's something special too-it must have been quite expensive for Gilco to make this and all the cast lugs.

Looks great and in lovely condition, Is it around 87-89? I love the different tubing and how the chainstays are different.
I've read somewhere that it cost more than SLX when it first came out.
What group are you going to go for ? -

Me likey.

Yeah, read somewhere it was released late 80's and produced into the 90's? I found MAX a bit brutal on longer rides as it was so stiff so hoping its a bit more comfy.
Going to build it up with Campag 10 speed I think, got some silver UT cranks in the spares box already and a few other bits and bobs, don't really have much dollar to throw at it. Will need to source a 25.4 seatpost by the looks of things though!

Love the BB shell.
Pretty sure the seatpost is 25.0mm, which makes things a little easier.
