This is a really lovely lightweight Reynolds 531 frame and fork from Raleigh that has been absolutely wrecked by the worst paint job I’ve ever seen. The cut out lugs are lovely and the seat stays are really nice too.

Bought in the hope of finding the time to restore back to former glory but never happened. Selling in the hope someone else will.

The guy who sold it thought it was a Raleigh Record Ace Vintage from the Carlton workshop in Worksop (1980-ish), but I think it might be from Raleigh’s “Lightweight Unit” in Nottingham. For anyone with better knowledge than me, the serial number is WL2001399.

Headset spins freely. There’s some cosmetic rust (particularly on head tube – pictured) that will be fine under a new coat of paint.

    Sizing: ST58 ctc, TT56 ctc, HT12.

    Collect only from SE24 0AD.

Who will love this frameset more than I could?

    £30.

  • Thanks for that @midlife - nice to know what's actually beneath this raggedy rattle can job.

I'd just be happy for someone to take care of it tbh - shame to have such a nice frame just sitting in the basement. Also there is a bit of rust under the paint which, although not a massive issue, I have to admit it's not in perfect nick.

  • Hey! Yeah I think I'll take this. PM is incoming!

  • Let me know if still available please.

  • Sorry this is now sold.
