  • ^ If it's possible, change the angle of the fenders so that the biggest gap will be where anything you pick up can exit.

    erg, new page - @MBroady

  • which shop in London will sell me SKS stays?

  • I have mid fork fittings for mudguards. Any chance I can put PDWs? Or I'm condemned to long boards?

  • You can just trim the stays down. The angle of the stay at the guard is very adjustable.

  • Yeah, you should have no problem trimming them down a touch if needs be, lot of wiggle room on PDW.

  • PDW smaller size claims to only do 23mm but the larger one looks massive. No chance of getting away with 25/28s?

  • Longboards come at 35mm wide

  • would be tight, but yeah go SKS 35mm if you can

  • Ta both. Was hoping PDW for the swag-points. SKS look more practical. Had heard of issues getting 28s under PDW (23mm), so this seems more sensible.

  • I bought the 30mm ones and 28s are tight under them.

  • Thought they were 35s? (PDW, or are you talking SKS?)

  • Checked my receipt from Charlie the Bikemonger

Description: Portland Design Works Full Metal Fenders Set (30mm) - Colour:Matte Black

          Item Price: £ 74.99
                 Qty: 1

  • I'd say 25s would be easily possible. I have 28s under mine and while you lose a bit of spray coverage, they look nice and neat.

Will depend on your fork clearance. This is the original grey version, in case the black ones are any different.

  • Bowman Pilgrims. This is someone else's. 25mm tyres, PDW 23mm. Maybe I can't get away with more than 25?

  • you gotta have blue valve caps!

  • You can get 28s under, but it will depend on rim/tyre combo. Just don't expect fantastic coverage at the sides of the tyre. I've done this and they still work well.

  • Also, UTFS.

  • Velo orange do nice black ones in 35mm

  • Has anyone put a set of road mudguards on a Moser Leader AX frame before? I have a pair of Columbus minimal forks on the front currently with 25c's. If i came down to 23c's i hope there will be enough room for a thin set of something. There is defo enough space against both tubes. Any suggestions?

  • finally nicked a pair of RoadRacer Mk2 from @cgg. Not much clearance, tho, and the bike doesn't abide by the principle of silence any more. The wheel's definitely touching something.

  • Gonna be a very tight fit.

  • Trying to fit mudguards to my Steamroller, sks longboards.
Struggling with the rear brake bridge mount, the two bumps on the piece of plastic (see pic) make it too wide to fit between the stays.
    Any ideas?

  • Is that the brake bridge thing that came with the longboards? Mine came with a metal one without those little extra bits...

In other longboard news, my 2nd longboard front mudguard flap (and part of the guard itself) snapped off, just where the lower stay attaches.

Think I'll just cut it straight and fit a very long flap. What flaps are recommended? And what's the best way of attaching it?

  • the two bumps on the piece of plastic (see pic) make it too wide to fit between the stays.

    Turn it around!

  • Done that now! Needed an extra spacer on the brake bolt but looks like it might work.
@TurtleRecall I think raw mudflaps are supposed to be good, they're what I'm gonna get for this
