Have you got pics of the paint ripples?
-
• #55828
I'll be able to get some later. Just wondered if anyone knew what they were immediately.
-
• #55829
Difficult to say without looking - Could be anything from runs in paint to deforming of tube - hopefully something like the former

You lot are all secretly watching this, right?

Personal, nooby opinion.. Looks fine to me! Think I've seen it a fair few times on other frames, don't think it's to do with the frame itself more the paint / finish

Oooh I am now...

My also nooby opinion thought the same, that it was a paint problem, but I Just needed to check

Too big for all of you. Think you should let me have it.
I'm quite intrigued by the seller though....

You can Relax :) It is with 100% certainty small tracks of corrosion which follow a path of least resistance under the paint. If you were to scrape the paint away you would find a track of surface corrosion but nothing of any structural consequence.. I have had it on countless frames and it can be lived with until such time you feel a trip to the painters is needed.
Put a dab of Kurust on any exposed surface oxidisation when you get a chance or before touch up. - This actually converts corrosion into a hard substrate. -

Ahh perfect. Thanks for your insight. When I looked at the photos again I noticed the rust where the chips are so wondered if it had something to do with corrosion. Had no certain idea though so thanks a tonne. I can chill now haha

@pdlouche The seat stays are reassuringly firm but there's a bit of flex in the chain stays. I wouldn't commute on it, but it'll be fun for tarck and track.
@HHC I think the largest they ever had was a 58cm. I went with the 56 assuming it was the large and the 58 was the XL. I get the feeling that anything larger than 58 would probably have structural integrity issues, so consider yourself excluded, but for safety reasons.
These guys seem to be selling the same one:
Last thing of note: the chain stays aren't crimped so that makes me dubious about running Omniums. Anyway, CP >>>>>
noticed a couple of things on the frameset this morning, one on the top of the seat tube and one on the top tube. I'll get some pictures later but I've noticed what I can only really describe as a couple of 'paint ripples. No idea what these are? Long and thin like a crack but more like a crease if that makes sense. no missing paint though. any ideas anyone?
