Long story short; while top tube become longer due to the slacker seat tube, the distance from bottom bracket to headtube remain the same.

I think you're right and iirc the Pearson had an oddball seat tube angle which made the tt physically long but virtually short....of that makes sense. I never did manage to dial it in.
