    jk

    $wag = compass
sensible do it all? Maybe G-one, maxxis rambler or something radvist-y. Re-fuse too.
Marathon supreme if you want the word 'marathon' in life. Nice, not so pricey, have wide options and also tubeless if you swing that way.

I commute on GB hetre in London's famous London btw, zero punctures about 1.5k miles now.

Your knees have short lifespan to ride shitty tyres IMO. I'd rather ride a bike with claris with decent tyres than anything fancy with marathon pluses.

Widest, most supple that you can afford.

  • Aren't Compass and GB tyres also made by Panaracer?

  • of course they are. And possibly 90% of the tyres we ride come from a Malaysian factory too.

I thought Thailand was the big bike tyre manufacturing centre

  • Still love this. How long have you had it now?

i've had most of the tubes almost 4 years

  • I should take better pitcure of the Somec. Now with Nitto silver stem, and black bartape, it highlight the paintjob..

    Sunday Morning Tuning

  • Same internal width as Frequency i-19 but 3.5x as costly and heavier. Bitex hubs have been ordered so atm I'm trying to weigh up how wide I should go. I cant see these wheels being used with less than 30c tyres and 40c max, so either KOM i21s or i23s

Is my understanding correct that you don't want super wide rims with knobblies because it can expose the side walls more?

  • still the goat

  • Why have you got a saddle mounted bottle cage when there are two sets of bosses on the frame?

    Way more aero dude.

  • Grip I.D please? Much cushioning?

  • The bigger the tyres = less pressure needed = less likely to puncture.

  • Moved to correct thread.

  • for starter you could post in the correct thread: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/159142

  • Helpful. Thanks.

  • If the box was damaged they go inside and repacked stuff and send it back to what ever address they got, ask the buyer about the condition of the box and get him to take a photo for you.

  • Just finished building up this Cannondale 2.8, took it to my lbs to put in a new ck headset and tune up the gears.

Got a call a few hours later to say they had spotted a small crack in the ds seat stay . The frame is toast! Gutted, will have to start stripping it down before I even had a chance to properly ride it .

At least they found it then rather than me discovering it mid-ride when the frame snapped. Good luck I suppose but can't help feeling gutted. Trying to decide whether to risk another vintage Cannondale to replace it or go modern alloy/steel...

I have the original carbon fork that 'Ill put up in the for sale thread if anyone can make use of it.

  • That's quite a lot of paint bubbling too, had you missed that when you were building it or did you think that would be alright? That would have worried me even without the crack.

  • But yeah, what a shitter. Have you had it a while or is it a recent purchase?

  • just some bog standard track grips, i think these are from condor. Not a lot of cushioning which is how i like it

  • Having a bit of a puzzle with fitting a rear BB7 to a pompetamine.

This is with an adaptor for a 160mm disc (came with the caliper).

    The issues:

    1) I can't use the full length of the slotted dropout; the caliper fouls the seat-stay at less than halfway
    2) inside of caliper is very close - almost touching - the inside of the dropout... Doesn't look right.

Assume I am missing something here. Rotor too large? Design of pompetamine dropouts too shit? Post-to-IS adaptor backwards?

  • Cable will pull the arm away from the seatstay once its properly installed:
