  • Looks like you're right, had my hopes up for a moment there!

  • Parked up in the bottle shop with fish and chips and a Bomba. Yum.

  • Buxton Rain Shadow here. 330ml of 10% Magic.

  • We managed a half of that too! Stern stuff, was like a mouthful of damp keg and malt (in a very good way)!

Went home with the Mikeller Dim Sum, Belgian Beer Project La Shaman Dry Stout, a Belching Beaver Peanut Butter Stout and Belching Beaver Horchata Imp Stout.

  • This is very tasty...

  • Another Rain Shadow last night.

Pressed our apples today, got 9pints juice on chill now hope to get it fermented for cider, missing some bits so a dash to homebrew shop tomorrow required.... >>>>>>> cider thread

  • ^YES! I need to get more of that when I'm in Belgium next.

I'm drinking the Beavertown Tool collab Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde today. Had Jekyll which was lovely and fruity. Saving Hyde for after dinner.

  • Drinking Mr Hyde. It's quite thin and lacking in barrel but is super-smooth for its 13.7%.

  • Jekyll lovely and fruity
    Hyde, lacking

    That's appropriate

  • Best beer from yesterday was Omnipollo's DIPA, the nitro stout from Brewdog was pretty nice too.

  • In other news, bars in Amsterdam that I NEED to visit - hit me with some please beer peeps!

  • @hippy These are nice

    De Prael
    't IJ brewery
    Gollem
    Arendsnest

But... you should come to the south, much better than Amsterdam ;-)

I have a nice cycle route connecting 4 Trappist monestaries/breweries (Zundert, Westmalle, Achel, La Trappe) in a 200km ride starting from my house.

  • Looking back at what passed my alimentary/beer canal last Saturday I'm not suprised I had a hard time getting off the couch yesterday. Perfect day for it with Worlds and Zonhoven CX race though

  • Very much enjoyed Tiny Rebel's "In and around the mouth", 6% IPA last night.

  • Almost all of DvdK's beers are amazing. Within cycling distance from my place as well <3

  • Pop on the free 2 minute ferry over the water to Oedipus Brewery Tap Room/.

Cafe Du Cuevel/ is nice too.

  • Got a link to the route? Sounds....interesting!

  • Cheers! Will add them to my list.

  • Love to but it just a weekend and I'm only going to be in 'dam.

I'd be dead if I rode that route. Dead or stuck fast at the first brewery. :)

  • for sure, you can copy it from here using the spanner icon. if you don't have Strava pm me and I'll send you the .gpx

  • you're welcome anytime should you want to ride and drink here

tbh I didn't have one beer on that ride, made sure of ample compensation afterwards tho

  • 10 years ago I rode around most of those places but had no idea where the abbeys were and never actually thought to visit them. I did drink a lot of their output at various bars though.
I've been seeing a lot of Belgian audax reports recently (Belgian Borders, Oostend 600) so it appears to be a sign that I need to go ride some.

  • incentive needed? (we'll be camping probably)

  • I need to go to this, I love Beirhalle deconinck where it is held.
