That's not something I know enough about to comment, but what you say sounds plausible. More to the point I thought it was a pipe dream to even entertain that as an outcome.
@JWestland - no idea.
TBH at this point even using terms like, Tories, Conservatives or *c*onservatives is becoming a bit meaningless.
The couple of economicly right, small government, pro Brexit people I know are not exactly jumping for joy over the current rhetoric. Not being able to hire who you want and being forced to list the nationality of employees then reporting it to the State is hardly "cutting red tape" or "letting the market decide".

You think increasing petrol prices are bad for you? Hah. I've just bought a car which, on a good day, does 19mpg. On Super Unleaded. And yet even so, increasing petrol prices doesn't even make the first volume of my new book 'Why people who voted for Brexit are gits'.

They're not bad for me, all of my mileage is elective - but to the man on the street (or woman), they're something of a lightning rod.
Darren from Hemel Hempstead who drives 40 miles each way to get to work is going to be annoyed if Diesel hits £2/litre.

Exactly, one of those economically right, small gov ones wrote a column in the Torygraph saying how he has no problems with immigration and just wants to get the right people, and what the hell are they doing leaving the EEC over immigration.

i'm considering buying a gigantic diesel car because midlife crisis. will i be penniless 4 eva?

That's the whole problem with this referendum. A bunch of senile backbenchers and pensioners wanted one last hurrah. Experts, facts and most likely possibilities were all swept under the carpet whilst lies and falsehoods filled the void.
So far there has been no accountability whatsoever and the country seems like it's being ruled by swivel eyed loons once more.
Those that campaigned to get out did not, and still haven't, got a clue as for what the implications will be and based on that alone the outcome shouldn't be valid.
People that vote for x factor etc are better informed than the majority of the population that voted in this referendum.

I thought the voting policy for brexit and X factor was the same, vote for the idiots and laugh when they fuck up.

One of my older clients was literally Darren from Hemel Hempstead.
He rode a motorbike though, so may not be too fussed about fuel prices.

You say that. In town, i get less than 40mpg on mine. It could cost me over £15 a week to get to work if prices go up 20%.

My tank is 64 litres, I seem to get ~250 miles from a tank of Super Unleaded.
That's 14 gallons, so the 911 seems to be averaging 18mpg at the moment.
Which given that it's been a mix of stop-start and motorway is actually pretty close to the Volvo (which will do 12-14 mpg around town and 34 on the motorway).
I still don't really give a shit about the cost of said petrol, that said.

• #5215
buying a 911 and worrying about the price of gas is like ordering a bucket of chicken and worrying about the colesterol.
sweet wheels, btw.

In more Theresa-May-wants-to-destroy-Britain news:
Half the positions on Theresa May’s all-powerful Brexit cabinet committee have been given to hard-line Eurosekptics, a leaked government list obtained by POLITICO reveals in further evidence that the U.K. is heading toward a hard exit from the European Union.
Every senior cabinet minister who campaigned for a vote to leave the EU has been given a place on the committee, which acts as the government’s ultimate decision-making body on Brexit.
Authoritarian is another way to put it.
I'm not a fan of unregulated markets the way the Tories want them, as they also come with no labour protection. The industrial revolution was pure "let the market sort it" ;)
The timescale is also very short, it's hard to do such things with no trading mates nearby and pissing off one you were part of since 1975 and TTIP/CETA are not deregulation, they're anti-state.
Perhaps there's a good way to do what your leave voter acquaintance is after, but I see an omnishambles atm. How do you go about it?
