Don't over tighten it, make sure you have no tight spots going lock to lock, a bit extra freeplay in the straight ahead position is normal.
Measured at the steering wheel, 75mm for non rack and pinion 13mm for rack and pinion
Depending on steering wheel diameter, surely?
Straight from the MOT manual, a bit of common sense added if someone has fitted a smaller than standard wheel then?
