It's a 17 year old 180mph car, it's not really surprising bits have worn out.

The same bits on a Ford Focus are probably worn at 60k miles too, but no one who drives a Ford Focus gives too much of a fuck how worn their top mounts are, because it doesn't really make any difference to how the car is driven.

Barely feels like it's breaking a sweat until you're north of 150 too

Just like the 1.4 astra estate that I owned when I was 18 in 1996. Hardly felt like it was working til 110mph.

Downhill. With a massive tail wind. With ten minutes wind up. And a faulty Speedo. And loads of awful sounding noises. And lots of weed being smoked.

Woah. Massive flashback there. Friend's Astra, full of weed smoke. Terrifying lift-off oversteer.

Slatnose 911 is a beauty. Especially in that colour. Think I've seen this one driving through Picadilly. That sound....

First off its not really a volvo. It's mostly a mitsubuhsi with a French engine? Never a fan of that era of v40/s40 but some folk really rate them.

Yes, big smile when driving it, although I almost ran out of petrol on the way home which would have been both memorable and stupid.

Off topic but would love some advice. We're in France and rented a car. For some reason I didn't pay for extra insurance and today some fucker reversed into our car making a nice foot long dent on the right hand side.

Interestingly enough, there was a tiny dent there before, so that part of the car is noted as damaged on the report. Though not exactly there, but close.

What's the best way to handle it? Play stupid and just hand it back hoping it'll fall under the previous dent? Or just tell them and hope it'll cost south of €1000 as that's what my debit card hopefully covers. Or tell them and argue the previous note should cover it?

I was told 15mm of travel at the rim of the steering wheel.
