  • Is there a mechanism for UK citizens to force an early general election?

    Maybe that's the way to go?

  • Vote of no confidence. Simple majority if the government calls for it, 2/3rds if the opposition calls for it.

  • Last happened in '79 when Thatcher ousted Callaghan which was a hung parliament.

    Highly unlikely to happen to this friggin lot. Because this referendum has given them carte blanche to do whatever they want, which in turn we can blame on the botched referendum prior to the last one.

    But we can't initiate those as citizens can we? I wonder if there's a way for voters to force it. As this is getting beyond a joke.
