Would there be any benefit to going from SRAM Force 10 speed to SRAM Rival 22 on my road bike?
Is the one extra sprocket and the 'yaw' front derailleur worth it?

nah stay force

The Rival 22 I've put on my new roadie is better than I remember original Red being on my old Look. Lever shape is nicer too imo. Maybe test ride a bike with Rival and see?

Has anybody seen a Charge Cooker 1 and can tell me if it has mudguard and rack mounts? It looks like it has eyelets on the fork but I can't see any others. Looks like an excellent, cheaper alternative to a Pine Mountain 1. Any reason not to get one... aluminium fork is unusual but presumably they wouldn't have specced it if it was useless?

Funny, I had the opposite experience. I find my red 10 shifts much crisper and with less effort. Although that might have been down to less than optimal cable routing I had on the rival 22.

There's a little more lever force for the front mech (Red 22 on my gf's bike is much better in that regard, but that's probably in part down to internal handlebar routing on mine) but the shifts are much more reliable and the rear especially seems to shift better under load. I think Red 10 was maybe a little too crisp and clacky.

NOTHING I mean nothing can match the front shifting of a full modern shimano set up even at 105 level, so if you are getting sram for tumblr points or hood shape you have to live with sub-optimal shifting so might as well save some money and stay with force 10.
I have red22 everything. Also 9000, then 6870 di2.

Anyone got any suggestions for a seatpost that's 25.4 x 330 with zero set back that isn't Thomson? I have a Thomson Elite inline seatpost on my Cannondale Synapse, and the fucker constantly slips down. I've torqued it correctly, and had that confirmed at my LBS. Used carbon paste, still slips. I can only guess that the smooth machined finish is incompatible with the stupid internal mounting system.

Yeah. Found the same. Force 22 much much better than Red 10.

Thomsons have a rougher surface than a properly made seat post. It's possible that a lapped finish would stick better than one with machining marks on it.

Ok, rougher or smoother, either way it doesn't seem to be working! ;)

Cannondale have an alu and carbon version on their books. God knows where you could get one from though. Maybe give CSG a call.

With zero setback? I haven't seen those, but I'll have a hunt again.

If I was to have a frame worth $450 shipped to me in London from New York, how much import tax should I expect to pay?
-
• #79342
They are listed on cannondale experts but out of stock, so might just be vapourwear. Dr Cannondale doesn't have them so you chances of acquiring one in Europe aren't great. But stranger things have happened - pick up the phone to CSG, they might help you.
There things like this, too...
But I don't think they are @dammit approved.

27.2 Thomson seatpost clamps - why does no fucker have them? Where can I get one? Thankyouplease
-
• #79344
Who is CSG?
-
• #79345
Don't you need a 28.6 clamp for a 27.2 seatpost? - Silver showing in stock at Wiggle.

He's related to CSB.

Ah, I'm being an idiot. I assumed they'd give the post size they were for.
Groovy!

Not just you. I've made that mistake lots. Everytime I go to buy one. Clearly I have not bought enough.
