All the cranks use a 24mm spindle so no worries there. The only thing to note for future is that Ultegra and DA cups are a smaller size. They supply them with a plastic shim but I've managed to strip 2 while fitting them so bought a proper sized wrench.

Great thanks all.

Are the calipers being sold in this group flat mount or post mount? I need the latter. It doesn't say.

Cheers. Amey, fixing all my problems.

140 rotors? otherwise you may need an adapter.
-
• #5508
Yeah will be 140. Should be plenty. No alpine descents anticipated.
-
• #5509
yeah 140 have been good for me so far.
Bleed kit?
-
• #5510
I know I need to bleed things sometimes. But little more than that. Is it a do at home kind of job? Suggestions?
-
• #5511
yeah its easy .. at least it was with Shimano. No idea if they come pre-bled from bike24 and if they do and you have internal routing you have to re-bleed.
ebay have plenty kits. The tektro hose cutter is handy as it will install the pins in hose too, no need for a vice.

I'll watch a youtube.

Installing the hose barbs without a vice is mighty fun.
-
• #5514
Yep it should be easy.
I think this is recommended one mentioned on the disc thread: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Epic-Universal-Bleed-Kit-Avid-Formula-Hope-Magura-Shimano-SRAM-Tektro-/182172953902?hash=item2a6a5aad2e:g:2gkAAOSwMmBVrScC

Mole grips and a hammer works for barbs.
-
• #5516
This is what ive done on my recent bleeds, make sure to use the little yellow pencil sharpeners and tighten it up as much as you can. Opening up the hose a little with something pointy definitely helps too

Yerp.

• #5518
are you even a real man if you dont own a vice?
-
• #5519
A vice? Pfar. Real men own welders.
-
• #5520
My vice is broken, although the one in the workshop is gigantic if that helps measure my masculinity. Plus when I'm fixing stuff out and about I don't have a vice and molegrips work fine, there is a little jagwire tool that does the trick too but that's for girls.

Vice = teeth
Welder = punch it until it stays put -
• #5522
is there any news on the tiagra hydraulic group?
-
• #5523
Hang about. PF86 bottom bracket shell with BB installed. Do I want SRAM GXP Cranks or BB30?! Or both, or neither?
-
• #5524
gxp
-
• #5525
If its a shimano BB you will have to remove it and install this: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/sram-pressfit-gxp-alloy-bottom-bracket/rp-prod75586
It'll be fine although the groupset will probably come with another so may as well swap out anyway.
