Naaaahh . It looks vintage is what it is . And bloody lovely . I love it . I know the pseudo Tudor heritage bullshit .....snowflake hands aged dial indices etc and I only bought cos I thought the original smiley black bay black maybe good at holding its money as wasn't available for long before it was replaced , and when it arrived I just wanted to put it on rather than in the safe .

Looks great. I'm really interested to see how these will wear over time. I've seen quite a few pictures of Panarai Bronzos that look like they've come off the deck of the Titanic. I love patina/WabiSabi etc but the ones I've seen caked in verdigris and corrosion are a bit too much for me.
Guessing you haven't worn yours much in salt water etc since you got it? It looks in great condition with a bit of gentle patina.

It was pretty much golden when it was new. Totally fresh Bronze. Took about three months to start to darken.
I've only worn it in the sea half a dozen times, each time it has noticeably changed colour.
It definitely goes through phases of being darker and lighter. I've noticed that some water lightens the patina depending in the chemistry. It all adds up to a very pleasing effect.

Does the Poljot have regular lugs hiding around the back of the case/can it use regular straps? I quit like it in a kind of Tag Monaco/Buck Rodgers kind of way.

Recently installed an orbis Morgan natural rubber dive strap onto my diver... A month later it's cracked half through! Gets used in the sea about twice a week. Shit. Will be emailing for a replacement or refund.
However, the eulit perlon strap is still working perfectly. Maybe have to get another. -

Hi all,
I am here for a bit of advice as I would like to buy a watch for my brother's 30th birthday.
I don't know anything about watches apart from I remember being told that expensive watches weren't good at keeping time...Ideally one from 1987 so it is as old as he is.
It would also be nice to have a heavy-ish watch so it can used to saber Champagne.Budget is up to £2k if there is something nice, or less as chances are that he won't be wearing it much.
