Nailed it.
You're talking cobblers.
-
• #79228
You nail it while you're wearing it to ensure best fit.

I was just at one - they didn't have any shoe glue.

Shimano SL-T610 & SL-M610 shifters.
What is the difference? They look identical.
What does the M or T stand for?M-System?

Triple?
See if the tech docs explain

Thanks. I've been on techdocs. Couldn't find much.

I think M may just be the new version of T. But then I have some ancient groupsets that used an M -

T is for Trekking (touring/leisure bike) and M for MTB.
Not sure what that means for the performance. Different gear ranges?
-
• #79235
Thanks. Seems an odd thing to do.
Can't imagine how it could mean different ranges as they're just shifters.
-
• #79236
The T models are optimised for overweight, middle aged Germans, the M work best for people in dodgy shorts with tiny chainrings.

About to get one of my frames blasted and powder coated.
I'm assuming that once that's been done I'll need to face both the bottom bracket and the head tube, or am I likely to be able to get away without? I don't want to have to go out and buy tools that I don't really need.
-
• #79238
Impossible to say without seeing the end result, but probably yes.
-
• #79239
Unless it's part of the service, yes.
-
• #79240
What is the difference?
Check the compatibility map, Shimano trekking groups tend to use big chainrings compared with MTB groups, so the shift levers might be designed to work with a road FD.
-
• #79241
There may be a different front shifter. But these are just rear shifters.
Also I thought the pull on a road or mtb front shiter was about the same. Where triple=triple etc...

Home contents insurance, any suggestions of who to go with/avoid?
-
• #79243
Depends if you need to insure expensive bikes? I moved away from M&S to Pedalcover when M&S specifically fucked cyclists over. But this was because bikes were the most expensive stuff in my house.
-
• #79244
Most expensive bike is a Brompton. Cover would be a bonus but not too fussed.
-
• #79245
Brompton would be covered under the M&S policy so I'd be inclined to look at them but at the same time, they fucked me over with their bike rule change so fuck them!
-
• #79246
Who did you move to?
-
• #79247
It's literally written three posts up. :P Pedalcover
-
• #79248
Oh, sounded like they'd passed off bikey stuff to pedalcover and it has a shit rep or something. Ta!
-
• #79249
No, I like Pedalcover. M&S changed their rules and penalised people with expensive bikes.
-
• #79250
Hold on, what did M&S do and when?
My policy automatically renewed and the amount didn't change much so I assumed the conditions didn't? (Not recommended)
Doesn't that leave the toe box a bit cramped?
