The Chesham Arms is now the outright Pub of the Year 2016.

For real or April Fool? I can't find anything about it on the CAMRA site yet. Do you mean national best pub or London best pub?
(I wouldn't normally be so suspicious if it wasn't today, even though you posted this after noon. :) )

Pubs with a good Sunday Lunch that also show football in Central or possibly North London. My fairly extensive pub knowledge is coming up a blank here.

I'll be accommodated in Dalston for a few days in August, are there some CAMRA pubs around there that are also luffguss approved?
Also, anyone care to join me? -

The closest is probably the Railway Tavern in St Jude Street. No others in Dalston that I know of, but quite a few within easy cycling distance.
The Chesham--site of Easts:

The Wenlock Arms in Shoreditch.
The Jolly Butcher's in Stoke Newington (former Easts site).
The Old Fountain in Baldwin Street, just off City Road.
I'm sure there are others I've forgotten/haven't heard of.

Other ones that spring to mind are
The Fox
Duke's Brew and Que (the original home of Beavertown brewery) although it's a bit more of a restaurant
Hunter S
Cock Tavern on Mare St (over to Hackney way, has plenty of Howling Hops stuff on)
Snooty Fox (particular CAMRA favourite), Lady Mildmay and Alma a bit further over to the West -

+1 for the Cock Tavern, cracking pub.
-
• #511
Fantastic all, I feel sotted already.

railway Tavern and the cock are the best ideas. but yeah you should get to the Chesham too if you can get little bit further east. and the Pembury on the way is a safe call. we are spoilt in this area. fucking top for beer

Oh, forgot. If it's sunny Pub on the Park is a good shout. Not as diverse beer wise but really fantastic beer garden/overlooks London Fields.

Where's good for lunch in south east London these days? The Lord Palmerston? The Dartford Arms? Any others?
-
• #518
The Ivy House? Though not on Mondays or Tuesdays.

• #519
Turn 180 degrees, travel 5-10mi.

Any recommendations near Vauxhall?
-
• #521
No
-
• #522
Chariots? They'll pull you a good one there.

The Griffin used to be ace. Recently refurbished and had lost character but still my go to pub in the area. The priory arms was good too, but it's been a few years since I've been there.

If you don't mind a ten/fifteen min walk you can do the canton arms, almost my local..
Spent a fair bit of time in Bierschenke. I like it. Mmm.. schnitty...
