  • I think Star Wars Battlefront has a lot going for it, DLC strategy aside. By FAR the best Star Wars experience I've ever seen in a game. Would have loved a single player campaign but plenty of fun to be had bashing multiplayer maps.

  • The new DLC is meant to be good too

  • Is that the Death Star? Saw something on Twitter but haven't downloaded yet. Keen though.

  • Why is no one else playing Xcom 2?

  • I'll buy it when it's £4 in a sale

  • Too busy playing Xenonauts =P

  • Yeah ok. I think i paid 15 notes for it. It's so fucking good even if it is like xcomeu without the silly gundam bots.

  • I've literally googled 'Bannerlord' with 'last 24 hours', 'sort by date' every day for months waiting for this fucking thing.

Just about to do my nightly search... will keep the thread updated...

  • The best Star Wars experience in a game for me was Lego Star Wars bizarrely enough

  • Haven't tried but duly noted. I really enjoyed the demo of the Lego take on The Hobbit I played.

  • Anyone want a copy of Fifa 17 for Xbox One? I appear to have accidentally purchased instead of the PS4 version.

  • Wow, just realised it's 10 years old!

  • Cheers BRO. Bought a bunch of games, a few you mentioned, and some others. Steam really isn't ready for the living room is it? As much as they try... controller support is patchy and games often have launching problems, at least I find they do. Lost my favourite character in State of decay due to a mission auto starting as I passed close by. Had to turn off and have a little moment, think I'll start from scratch...

  • That sounds horrendous. You have my sympathies. Do as I do and play shogun 2: tw instead. Literally minutes of happiness.

  • Dying Light was good fun. Atmosphere and gameplay were ace. Story wasn't anything to right home about.

  • ^ smh

  • What? Gameplay? I meant "murder mechanics."

  • I've gone through the single player a couple of times.
The multiplayer feels like a step back. It's not as buggy but I hate that you can't customise the units anywhere near as much as before. You just have a bunch of preselected ones to pick from. So I've stopped playing that.
I can't find reasons to love Xcom2, despite knowing it's more polished and less buggy now. Spent ages playing the Enemy Within. Oh well.

  • I find Steam's indicator as to whether or not a game has full controller support is pretty accurate. New stuff all works fine, some older stuff occasionally has issues the first time you launch.

In other news, I've accidentally bought a steering wheel and pedals. Any suggestions for driving games, I have Project Cars so far.

  • Assetto Corsa is definitely worth a look. Laps of Spa in a Lotus 49, absolute bliss, and occasional brown trouser moments.

  • In broken-record fashion, Assetto Corsa is the best driving by far. It's pretty much accepted that the physics has the competition beat hands-down. PCars might be a better racing game but I can happily spend hours just lapping AC's laser-scanned Nordschleife, it's epic.

Also if you're on PC, Assetto Corsa has the benefit of a very healthy modding scene. For starters I'd suggest the version of Donington at the very top of this list is worth checking out.
