Second hand - pre-2012 model but the rear one is fine. Annoyingly.
I will try another clean and then mentally prepare to break out the credit card.
Thanks all.

Newer ones are better anyway, grab some SLX or suttin.

Anyone tried the new apex 1 hrd ?
I'm hesitating between this one and hylex with shifters in the middle of the bar Hulsroy's style. -

Has anybody had issues using centre lock to 6 bolt disc brake adapters? I've bought a Kinesis GranFondo Ti, a set of Hunt Wheels and the TRP HY/RD callipers. Its my first time doing anything with discs and there appears to be a few issues to overcome.
And now, I've just found out the front wheel with Hunts 6 bolt adapter appear to press against the inside of the fork, where the bulge from the bottom disc calliper mounting bolt is. This means the wheel won't rotate when clamped. The fork is a Kinesis Tracer 1.5 Disc. I imagine the Hunt 6 bolt adapters are pretty standard, and nothing specifically made for Hunt.
Is there anything I'm doing wrong here? Or is the 6 bolt adapter simply not compatible with this type of fork? Would using a centre lock front disc solve the problem?
Advice would be much appreciated as I really like to ride the bike!

If you're using a QR then you could use a standard shimano lockring as they're slightly lower profile.

Why don't you just use a 6 bolt rotor...?
Edit:
Sorry, are the wheels centre lock? misread that bit. -

@hamrack Do you mean the lock ring that Hunt supplies is wider than the Shimano version?
@Pete4Eyes Alas, yup, they're centre lock. And the callipers I bought come with 6 bolt rotors. Disc brakes are working out to be quite an expensive exercise.

Shimano center-lock lockrings are the same as for their cassettes. Hunt have provided a DT Swiss style one that plays nice with thru-axles, but that doesn't seem to be an issue for you here. Grab a (shimano) cassette lockring and try that instead.

Had any luck with these?

I'd go for the disc lockring because some of the Shimano cassette lockring have a wider thread, some are made from alu, etc.
Ask around, some shops should have those steel one lying around, I know I do in my workshop, this photo clearly see how much less it stick out;

The cassette lockrings don't have as much thread either so can fuck up when you try and tighten them.

Thanks for finding a picture, I was struggling on my phone! I wasn't suggesting a cassette lockring as a permanent solution, just to check the fit. The being said, I would have thought alu would be ok, it's seeing the same type of loading as a cassette due to the splines. I guess it's the safety critical nature that makes steel preferable.

Especially the alu one, so easy to strip if ham fisted.

Yes! The Credit Card sorted it out. As it is doing with the derailleurs.....

slightly off-topic:
Disc lockrings and Cassette lockrings are different, yes? Different thread size? I have never found one that would fit both places. -

Decided what fork to buy yet...

Oh. That's one of the only two original bits let!

Centrelock rotor > 6 bolt rotor on an adapter.
They ain't that expensive.

Shimano SLX. I need to trim the hose on the rear brake but that's very likely to be something I will massively, massively screw up on my own. Before this weekend. The excess will be zip-tied to the bars so I don't snag on anything like a fast moving tree.
New BB, front and rear derailleur going on tomorrow. That will be quite hard to screw that up.
If none of that works I will throw it straight into a fiery volcano and quit this bicycle shit forever. Maybe golf instead.

Oh right. I'd just been reading some bad things about the latest XT ( m8000 ) brakes, and hoping you hadn't ordered them :-)

I need to replace the disc wheelset on the gate..... a Tricross. The stock axis 2.0 wheelset has been utter shite.
Any recommendations for a disc wheelset that will put up with winter commutes (40 mile roundtrip) AND put up with having a childseat on the back for when i do pre-school pickups. I fear that the childseat shortened the shelf-life of the Axis wheels. Not looking to spend a fortune...
