Welcomed - haven't set up a Shimano FD since an old Deore on my MTB about 8 years ago. Think I need to get an inline adjuster.

They are a weird shape. There's nowhere to put your thumb.
-
• #154
Yeah inline adjuster helps a load. The new 9100 ones have one built in, belatedly.

Just find I unclip way easier in SP than SPD. Maybes I'll just screw the screws in a bit harder :-)

Just found the thread... Did you go tubeless in the end or tubed? I think someone on the tubeless thread found that their BJP tyres had leaky sidewalls.
-
• #157
Not yet. Yeah heard mixed reports about BJP.

• #158
That's me! Woke up to a flat tyre one morning inflated to find this, despite putting at least 1000km on them on the road...
Still leak periodically :/

Schwalbe s-one for me then...

I emailed Jan last week and he said BJP are actually one of the tubeless compatible ones .. Barlow pass aren't. Have you emailed them about this sidewall issue @andy_k ?

Just got official reply from Compass:
I would recommend using OrangeSeal as it's a bit thicker than Stan's and is less likely to leak. That said, during, and just after, initial set-up, it's not unusual to have a bit of sealant leaking through the sidewalls as the supple casing is a bit porous. In our experience, and by all reports, this initial leaking is only temporary as the tire does eventually seal up fully. Using a little more sealant than usual, resting the tire on each side, and avoiding high pressures all contribute to getting the tire fully sealed.
Yes, we do stand behind out products and will replace them in the event of a problem caused by a manufacturing defect. For tires purchased from VeloVitality (and other retailers), we do ask that you pursue your warranty claims through the point of purchase. VeloVitality can handle your warranty claims on our behalf.

They're on my growing list of "people to email about bike shit that doesn't work so good" but I've not had time/motivation with house move etc.
I see the response you posted, the orange seal advices matches stuff suggested on Instagram. The avoid high pressure and avoid low pressure stuff (posted here) just leaves me feeling like it's more effort than it's worth and I should have bought g-ones or something. Fuck it, I'll just wear them out then sell all my bikes.

Got to say those colors turned out better than I expected!

I was thinking of going with the Bon Jon pass tubeless, but this is the second time I've seen that they aren't quite so airtight... Are there any skinwalls that are actually airtight?
-
• #166
I'd be interested in knowing this too - would be pretty upset to spend nearly £100 upgrading to Bon jovi tanwalls and then have to put tubes in...

WTB Horizon. SBC Cycles stock them. Will be the tyre I'm gonna use.

So I really am very happy with this, it could be a real contender for a one-bike-to-do-it-all type scenario (God forbid).
Took it off-road today on some military land, handled everything fine bar deep sand, which is always going to be tricky.

What saddle bag/tool roll is that?

Apologies if telling you how to suck eggs, but this is a great guide for the slightly more involved setup of a 11spd Shimano derailleur
