Problem is some poor pro team guyz have to then race it in the actual PR.
Having said that maybe they don't - wasn't this years winner on an aero bike like a Scott Foil or something?

Guess what? fitted with big tyres too.

you call 28mm 'big' ed?
-
• #155
Yeah 28 is standard for PR. Some die hards still do it on 25s.
That said it's possible that the winning Foil frame was custom to take larger rubber.

You guys do, 28mm is skinny as fuck to me.

Reading the article, it doesn't sound like they're expecting him to race on the Foil.

Where's this pic from? I like the fluoro colours Spesh have done for these but you can't really beat an all black bike.
That stem needs slamming though.

Go through a pothole and your wish will be granted.

Anyone clued up on this interesting stem/faceplate thing on the Giant Contend Disc?
I'm guessing its some kind of cable to hydro converter?More pics - http://www.cyclopaedia.co.uk/28002/products/2017-giant-contend-sl-1-disc-brake-road-bike.aspx
Giant Specs say 105 shifters with Giant own brand Hydraulics.

Giant Contend
Looks to be, oddly they don't make any mention of it.

Looks like BR has the scoop:

What a faff just to avoid 105 hydro levers.
-
• #168
Yeah I was chatting with the guys up at cadence. The said the giant did this because the biggest cost associated with hydraulic disc are the STIs. Rather clever really.... Fugly tho

I wonder how well it will work, the Hope one (of which I have if any one wants it), was pretty tough to get working well.
-
• #170
Tiagra level hydro 10sp >>> 105 11sp w/ shit fugly convertor. Bet there's not a lot in it cost-wise when you factor-in cassette, derailleurs, chain, etc. What a waste of time.

Maybe shimano OEM margins are thin
-
• #172
yer but 105 sellz better
-
• #173
oh man thats ugly :D
-
• #174
Makes sense as a component. Plenty of people have cable levers and bits they want to transfer to a winter/ gravel bike. Seems like a neat solution.
Not sure a work around is what you should expect on a OTP though.

Anywhere have either of these in, so I can check sizing first?
