Hello folks. I have reluctantly entered the 21st century and got myself my first iphone.
I'm trying to run the 'Move to ios' app on my old android to transfer all my numbers and junk to the new phone. Whenever i try to run the transfer, I always get this message however:
'The transfer was interruputed. Do not switch on other apps or turn off this device until the transfer is complete'.I'm not doing anything to interrupt the connection; as far as i can tell my wifi is stable and i'm not faffing with either phone whilst they communicate.
Anyone able to help? It's pissing me right off

I didn't bother with that app when I switched.
Just set up an iCloud address that uses your Gmail account and sync contacts and calendars. Download everything else separately.

Any developers here or people who have worked in some capacity on apps for iOS and Android?
We've been asked to make a preview video of a clients app and I remember reading somewhere that there are stipulations on what you can/can't include - can't for the life of me remember where. Basically just want to know if transitions/enlargements/added graphics etc are allowed or if it has to be exactly as it appears in the app?

Thanks. My understanding is these are just for display in the iOS App Store / Play Store and that they're not geographically specific.
I think the thing I'd read before was from 2014 when Apple announced video previews in the store - a blog or forum or something mentioned that it couldn't feature things like a wide shot of hands using the app etc but only device-only content.
Things we're interested in are:
Text/subtitles etc.
Voice over
Highlighted areas
Logo animation
Touch indicatorsJust wondering if there's a rulebook from Apple/Google somewhere? I can't see anything about that on the link you provide :/ Will keep searching.

Anyone using Gboard? Seems nice so far... Even if it's sending everything I type to them.

Just installed it. Seems OK so far.

I installed it because I miss swiping to type on my old Nexus. Have you tried it?

Yes, I typed the above and this with it. Works well but needs a comma in a more accessible place.

After just over a week I can happily say that this is a very nice keyboard. So quick and easy to use, I am speed typist on the phone now.

2 weeks too late maybe but if you hold your finger on the full stop (not force press) it will bring up loads more punctuation options, including comma, exclamation mark etc.

I found that after a day or so. (Week)

I couldn't really get on with Gboard to be honest. It just never felt as smooth as the native keyboard for some reason. I do very much like the swipe feature but could just not get around the weird clunkiness, which is Apple's doing.

i have an ipod touch with wifi and its battery life is awesome compared to my chinaphone.
is there a way i can use the maps on it while out and about (and away from a wifi signal)?
If i could cache some maps that would be great, is that a option? -

Do apps like view ranger work on it?
-
• #2798
Yes, possible with Google Maps' "offline maps" feature.
Was handy when I went to Paris last month and didn't want to rinse my data.
Only let down is that the only directions it will give you are for driving.
You can still search for businesses, pubs, restaurants though. -

This looks just the job, thanks.
That's a good way of doing it. I'll give it a go...
