  • Myself along with three others (Jasmijn, Neil looks to be subbed by Alan, Paul) are racing for the Isobar Compression team, doing 24hrs in a relay format around Brands Hatch race course this weekend.

Anyone else going to be there?

They'll have live tracking at: http://revolve24.com/results

Not going to win it on your own? Are you feeling ill :-)

  • It wasn't my idea, I was asked if I wanted to race it and thought it would be a laugh. It's a bunch of DVT sufferers and we're being sponsored by custom compression kit manufacturer so it seemed like a good call.

  • Oh nice :)

I worked the first one, I think - managed to sneak out for a lap, its surprisingly hilly!

Also if its anything like the event we did there will be loads of food, although I hope someone warned them you were coming

  • Good luck Hippy, hopefully the rain doesn't last for too long - It looks like the wind should ease off as the event progresses.

  • I'll be there, number 4 on the grid

  • My first 24 hour :)

  • Yeah, leading up to this I just assumed it was flat. It never crossed my mind it might be lumpy. Oh well.

  • Yeah cheers. It should only chuck it down when I'm on the track...

  • How did it go...?

  • Crushed it.

  • We were 4th team overall and 1st mixed 4 team and thanks to Jas smashing it we won a bunch of stuff like fastest women's lap and QOM so we have some champagne, some lights and a bike as prizes. :)

  • How'd you get on Nick.
    Congrats @hippy

  • I saw Nick once, first lap out after speaking to his missus. Maybe I had him on my mind and just hadn't noticed him earlier?

  • I came 8th in category. Everything hurts, especially my knees and lower back.

  • Nice one, Hips.

  • That course was pretty relentless. I do not envy your solo ride!

I tweaked my left calf behind the knee going too hard starting a set in the early hours and a sore neck from trying too hard to get aero on the road bike to make up for the ground I was losing on the climbs. Other than that I'm fine, but I did only ride ~6hrs.

  • Nice one. Did you ride the full track or just the indy circuit? When I rode the track for a couple of hours on a charity ride, it was laps of the 'F1' circuit, starting and ending at McLaren bend/curve. Surface is super-smooth!

  • I think it was the F1 circuit, the longer one, ~4k?

The surface is very good... except when it's wet and slippery as fuck and then you don't appreciate the smoothness. :)

  • They even swept the road for us

  • When was that? Beforehand?

  • You need to get one of those and get Mal (or @scherrit) to drive it ahead of you on your training rides.

  • I would fix the roads myself if I could find tar/gravel. I'd probably get arrested for doing it though, because legal systems on this planet are fucking stupid.
