Yeah, looked at that yesterday and the Spyre's seems like you could set and forget.

Also might just scrap the whole XT thing because of no drop bar levers that fits.

Saw a cheap Sun Race 11-42t cassette that is 10spd. Gives a good ratio for some steep hills and good on the flats. Fits straight onto the Hope freehub.

Couple that with a SRAM X5 and a SuperstarComponents I/O 38t NW ring.

Do you need a longer b-screw for the X5 to take the 42t?

I've a Sunrace 42t with X7 mech. Didn't need a longer b screw but it is at its limit.

Don't know if I like the ratio of the cassette though-there's a bit of a jump so found myself contemplating a Cx double chainset with it.
