I have never noticed it, 1 1/8" or Tapered steerer. Even if it was a tiny bit, it would still make discs way better than any rim brake.
I never said it's a valid reason not to go for disc, just that it does happen, most commonly when quick release wasn't tight enough.
Quick Releases are dead.
That's user error not the fault of the brakes.
