Do you not feel the slightest of twist when riding with a straight steer fork?
Modern fork almost eliminate this, but I had notice that slight flex, but it was way too small to really impact the handling.
I have never noticed it, 1 1/8" or Tapered steerer. Even if it was a tiny bit, it would still make discs way better than any rim brake.
I never said it's a valid reason not to go for disc, just that it does happen, most commonly when quick release wasn't tight enough.
