doing 24hrs in a relay format
Not going to win it on your own? Are you feeling ill :-)
-
• #3
It wasn't my idea, I was asked if I wanted to race it and thought it would be a laugh. It's a bunch of DVT sufferers and we're being sponsored by custom compression kit manufacturer so it seemed like a good call.

Oh nice :)
I worked the first one, I think - managed to sneak out for a lap, its surprisingly hilly!
Also if its anything like the event we did there will be loads of food, although I hope someone warned them you were coming

Good luck Hippy, hopefully the rain doesn't last for too long - It looks like the wind should ease off as the event progresses.

• #6
I'll be there, number 4 on the grid
-
• #7
My first 24 hour :)
-
• #8
Yeah, leading up to this I just assumed it was flat. It never crossed my mind it might be lumpy. Oh well.
-
• #9
Yeah cheers. It should only chuck it down when I'm on the track...
-
• #10
Smash it!
-
• #11
How did it go...?
-
• #12
Crushed it.
-
• #13
We were 4th team overall and 1st mixed 4 team and thanks to Jas smashing it we won a bunch of stuff like fastest women's lap and QOM so we have some champagne, some lights and a bike as prizes. :)

I saw Nick once, first lap out after speaking to his missus. Maybe I had him on my mind and just hadn't noticed him earlier?
-
• #16
I came 8th in category. Everything hurts, especially my knees and lower back.
-
• #17
Nice one, Hips.
-
• #18
That course was pretty relentless. I do not envy your solo ride!
I tweaked my left calf behind the knee going too hard starting a set in the early hours and a sore neck from trying too hard to get aero on the road bike to make up for the ground I was losing on the climbs. Other than that I'm fine, but I did only ride ~6hrs.

Nice one. Did you ride the full track or just the indy circuit? When I rode the track for a couple of hours on a charity ride, it was laps of the 'F1' circuit, starting and ending at McLaren bend/curve. Surface is super-smooth!
-
• #20
I think it was the F1 circuit, the longer one, ~4k?
The surface is very good... except when it's wet and slippery as fuck and then you don't appreciate the smoothness. :)

• #21
They even swept the road for us
-
• #22
When was that? Beforehand?
-
• #23
yup
-
• #24
You need to get one of those and get Mal (or @scherrit) to drive it ahead of you on your training rides.

I would fix the roads myself if I could find tar/gravel. I'd probably get arrested for doing it though, because legal systems on this planet are fucking stupid.
Myself along with three others (Jasmijn, Neil looks to be subbed by Alan, Paul) are racing for the Isobar Compression team, doing 24hrs in a relay format around Brands Hatch race course this weekend.
Anyone else going to be there?
They'll have live tracking at: http://revolve24.com/results
