Which Tyres?

anyone got one of those pictures that show different tyre brands on an a23 rim with the actual high and width. trying to figure out if I can fit a 28mm in my frame.

thinking of getting some kenda small block 8s for the cx bike, seem to have good reviews and be pretty durable? anyone riding them?

Yes, this is what I was gonna go for but they lack any thread (like One's, which are SO GODDAMN slippery in the wet over anything that isn't tarmac) and that concerns me ever so slightly.

G+ corsas have had it after 2500 miles/4 months - 3 punctures in the rear in as many rides. Veloflex Corsa 25 are on their way. The thinking being that they are grippy, light and are small for 25s so mudguards might be possible.

One aren't slippery in the wet, unless the tyres is rock solid.

So... Do Vittoria open Corsa SC no longer exist anywhere? Is it only the G+ ones available? I want the orangery tan/skin sidewalls! Not this milky G+ sidewall! (I know they might be better tyres, but...)

Hah, you and me both, but yeah the Specialized Turbo have almost identical sidewall to the Open Corsa SC.

Bikes have too narrow tyres to aquaplane so don't need tread. I suspect manufacturers put it there because they think customers used to car tyres expect a tyre to have tread.
I wouldn't be surprised if tyres with tread actually have less grip in the wet.

The treads on car tyres are to channel away water, not provide grip. Bikes are slower and have narrower tyres, so aquaplaning is not an issue.

As you say, uninformed customers equate tread with grip so that's why budget tyres have treads.

Unless you're riding in mud or snow, a tread on a bike tyre provides less grip: less rubber on the road and very chunky treads can squirm when cornering.

I want a fast rolling tyre for my steamroller. Was going to go kojak but with mudguards it looks like I'll fit 32c max. Any recommendations?

Do you want fast rolling, or a Marathon? Cos Marathons aren't fast.

I just bought 26x1.95 Schwalbe City Jets for my new commute-a-tron. I was suckered in by the bargain price and gumwalls. Was this a mistake or will they do for my shortish commute along shit roads and toepaths?
Guessing they're not as boss as Marathons but hopefully won't implode on their first trip..

The reflective strips peel off easily enough. They're a big jump in speed over the M+ but are still touring tyres. I think the new ones can be run tubeless too.

Don't the Boris/Ken bikes have those fitted?
