It's 7900 so shifting is lovely.
I'm going to try a different cassette (need wider range) that should be similarly worn so should be ok too. If that's ok, then I'm leaving it all in place and grinding it to a paste until it's time to replace it all with DA10000...

I always assumed it was cheap as the earings cost peanuts on ebay
Compared with precious metal, stainless steel is cheap, so you can make cheap shiny things from it if you tool up for mass production. Hand worked one-offs are a different matter.
It's always a balancing act with material cost and manufacturing cost, if you want something bulky but of simple form then stainless steel or even aluminium could be cheapest.

How do I go about finding out what font this is? Is there a quick way?

I want to get into frame building, but I'm skint; are there any London frame builders that will give me some torch time in exchange for filing and tea making duties?

-
• #78515
looking for full loop ideally, they seem to be cut out?
-
• #78516
Had a loop but moon bar seems to be something more just sweep back?
-
• #78517
yep, sadly the only full loop ones are $$$$.
if you want to try the SJS ones spotter mentioned I have a silver one going spare, yours for £3. nice back sweep, well made, jus not a full loop!

Are the SJS ones rated for off-road stuff? I had some of the 23deg flat bars on my pub bike, they were heavy, had a dumb internal diameter and weren't very comfortable :/

Do you want 660 or 710 wide btw?
They'll charge you way more than market rate. I have a sim only contract and buy phones off ebay. Look for one that's new with box or basically unused with box from a Cash Converters type shop. The box is important because the details on it should match the phone and hopefully mean it isn't nicked and will become a brick.
